Don't waist your money.

I bought this NAS based on some of the reviews and the price. The setup was pretty simple and straight foward. The web interface is pretty crappy to say the least. For example, to access any of the multiple functions you need different web addresses as opposed to accessing a main page then navigating to the sub functions. After setup the NAS, I started noticing that the web interface would take a long time to connect and initially. I thought there was an issue with my home wireless, but I found ...

Great performance

super fast and easy to understand and setup. I loaded it with 2 WD 3TB HDDs. I would buy it again.

Slow transfer anyone?

Purchased the item as a replacement for usb attached HDD on my router to lighten the router load. While the setup was easy I must say I'm dismayed with the transfer speeds. With gigabit speeds negotiated between my router and NAS i'm only able to get 10 MBps transfer.Tried all sorts of changes to my networking environment including a new router and different speed setting with no difference.I'd say pass unless ZyXEL releases new firmware. Currently on NSA325_4.50(AAAJ.1)

a piece of junk

IF there was a 0 rating this would get it.In plain english a piece of junk.I have 2 other nas devices and you do not have to go thru hoops to get to it.You don't use jbod and it puts the drives into 1 drive. Wait why not use raid0 if thats the case.It times out writing to the unit. YES it times out, then it will lock up.What a piece of JUNKLike I said spend your money somewhere else this thing Is a joke.

Many of these don't work and Zyxel KNOWS it

Did not work. It would not appear on network via web or via Zyxel's NSU utility. The SYS light just rapidly blinked green.Zyxel tech support eventually sent me a response asking me to check the following link to see if my HDD was compatible: [...]My HDD was indeed listed as compatible, but with newer firmware. The rep sent instructions on how to reflash the firmware with a USB thumbdrive, but by then I had already returned it. I had already spent hours troubleshooting it ...

Works well

System handles LAN backups wonderfully. Only gave it 4 starts since it can be a little glitchy and the web interface is sub-par, but it performs most functions brilliantly and served the purpose that I got it for perfect. I use Carbonite to backup offsite, but this device works as my local network backup so that I don't need a servers setup for that.

A reasonable home NAS solution.

The ZyXWk NSA320 is a nice solution for a home NAS. With 2 bays and outboard storage, you can serve a lot of content in a residential setting. It has most of the usual sorts of things like a web server, ftp server, time machine server, iTunes server, backup scheduler and what not as either stock or add on for no cost. The one singular pain is that the setup disk is Windoze only. If you have a Mac, you may have a bit of a problem. You can probably end run that by finding the address with a scanne...

Working for me!

The NSA325 works great for me. 4 stars for not working out of the box. Had to call tech support because the NAS was not visible on the network. All I had to do was update the firmware via USB, then it worked great. Here's how to fix the problem without calling customer support:If all the lights are on that are supposed to be on and you are not behind a firewall and still cant see the NAS on your network here is what helped me (got from zyxel tech support):1. Download firmware (t...

I LOVE THIS LITTLE NAS!!!

The NSA 325 is a significant upgrade from the old NSA 220 that I own. It is MUCH FASTER in transferring files! I can get about 13-16 MB per second with it, compared to a paltry 4-5 MB per second with the 220. It is fast enough to stream video to my wireless plasma set and to my HTC smartphone at the same time. There are some small drawbacks with this type of NAS, but the features, especially being able to stream RSS torrents to it and have the device automatically download my favorite sh...
