great for those odd brands of tvs

I bought this for a tv that wouldn't work with any other universal remote (isymphony). the remote for the tv had small numbers and my dad needed something with bigger numbers and arrows. with this remote you put it nose to nose with the original and are able to program from the original remote. a little time consuming, but well worth it-now my elderly father can actually use the tv with a remote!! I looked around alot (on line)-there are many learning remotes-some very expensive-didn't know if t...

Nice cheap little remote.

I used this remote to control my Roku box. Seems most universal remote makers do not support Roku. However, this remote is a learning remote - I simply pointed the Roku remote at this one (following the somewhat complicated, but eventually decipherable directions)and voila, it now controls my Roku and stereo harmoniously.

Did not work for my TV

It did not have code for my older Visio HDTV. Code search did not find it, either. The code learning works, but it only has enough memory to program about 10 buttons, so it cannot memorize all the digits in addition to power, volume up/down, channel up/down. It should have detailed this memory limitation in its description.

Great little remote!

I bought this remote for the learning capability as I have a digital converter device that very few remotes have the code for. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the code I needed was already built in. For another device, a small Magnavox TV, none of the codes listed worked but I did find one in less than a minute using the simple code search function so I didn't even have to use the learning function. I have tried lots of universal remotes over the years and have to say I am very impressed...

It solved my problem

I am not using this remote for normal applications. I lost a remote to a pedastal fan. I had another one just like it. So, I got this remote for the learning function and because it was cheap. I used the one fan remote I had left to "teach" this remote those functions. It worked quite well. I solved the problem with this remote instead of having to go buy another fan for $30-$40.

Doesn't work with Comcast DTA Converter boxes

The remote advertises that it works with any device. This is not true. Some newer devices seem to give the remote some difficulty if you have to use the learner function. For example, I have a Comcast digital-to-analog converter manufactured by Pace. I tried all the Comcast and Pace codes, as well as all the cable box codes, and none worked. So I tried to use the learning function. For some reason, the remote cannot learn all of the functions under one mode. I was able to get it to learn half of...

Finally a universal remote that works for me

I bought this remote because we have an old TV that none of my other universal remotes work for. I've tried every code in the book and nothing works. So, I got this because of the learning feature. When I got this remote, I figured I may as well try a few codes first. Within 4 tries, my TV was working! I didn't even need the learning feature. As a bonus, there is also a TiVo hooked up to this TV, and the remote has built in codes for that as well. So, not only did I gain a remote for m...

Fantastic remote

This is the first remote that I have owned that actually promised to work with every brand. That is quite a bold statement but its one that it, no doubt lives up to. This remote is extremely universal, and with its learn function it can learn just about any IR signal that you can find(and I do mean ANY!!!). As a matter of fact just yesterday I programed the remote to fly my remote controlled helicopter around my apartment. It seems like a complex process at first but just read the i...

Nice remote but not universal

Got this remote to work with Haier LCD TV and Toshiba BluRay player, neither of which my existing remotes supported. With 3,700 codes advertised, I figured it would fit the bill, but no luck. None of the listed codes for Haier worked, but the code search did locate one that functions. However, a number of the buttons don't work as labeled -- the mute doesn't mute the volume but instead turns on and off closed captioning (I haven't found a button that does mute). Despite having a long list of...
