Immense Power, Clear Sound

For those who want all the specifications, connection capacities and test details, see the euphoric Audioholics test report: [...]I bought the RXA3000 for stereo playback of classical, cultural and folk music. My decision was finalized by the RXA3000 capacity to bi-amp my Martin Logan Vista ES speakers. That arrangement delivers 236 WRMS at 4 Ohms x2 = 472 WRMS and more, below 4 ohms, into each speaker. (I promise not to crank the Saint-Saens Organ Symphony.)Surpri...

Worth every penny

This is the third Yamaha receiver I have owned and it replaces the 6.1 channel receiver which is still an awesome receiver used for over 10 years. The only reason I retired it as the main receiver is the lack of HDMI connections since that was not a standard 10 years ago. You just can't go wrong with Yamaha receivers. They sound awesome, power great speakers without the need for pre/post amps, and can run at full volume without distortion assuming you like your ears bleeding and a pounding heada...

Yamaha Continues to Improve the Breed

My interest in Home Media originates from a musical background as a musician and avid listener. The RX-A3000 is my 6th Yamaha DSP A/V receiver since my first (DSP-E300) in 1990--having owned other A/V amps including the first ever Dolby Digital (AC3) compatible (Pioneer). Yamaha's major feature to me is the natural sound on all their DSP SoundFields. Most every other receiver listened to does Dolby and DTS movie surround sound decoding just fine, but if you are into listening to 2 cha...

Worst customer support I've ever seen

I was a long-time, very satisfied Denon receiver user until I upgraded my system early this year. The Yamaha RX-A3000 came highly recommended, so I decided to make the switch. Talk about a huge mistake!! From the very beginning, the receiver output intermittent static from the front center channel. I contacted Yamaha and they had me send the receiver (on my own dime) to a central repair facility in Austin, TX. The repair facility had the unit for over two months and finally returned it afte...

Not Impressed and would not purchase in the future!

This receiver had super reviews but I'm not at all impressed and extremely disappointed in the purchase. To start and to be fair the sound is good but this is the end....some would say this is all that matters; however, beg to differ. When you spend this amount of money for a receiver I expect it to be simple, intuitive and brilliant. The GUI (Graphic User Interface) is NOT/NOT simple or intuitive. It was obviously established without a simple user in mind. If you have a PhD in electronics ...

Superb Reciever

I'm an old, crusty retired physicist. After months of research, I bought my 3rd Yamaha receiver. Over the last 20 of my 48 years of being an audiophile, I have purchased an RX-V1170, an RX-V4600, and now the RX-A3000.I personally have never had a failure on any Yamaha electronics product.I don't use any internal amplifiers in the receiver. I just use it as a preamp. With 2700 Watts of continuous power available in external amps...I don't need them.I listen to cl...

Great Sound, Nice Design, but very hard to setup without directions in the manual

Good power.. nice options to tweak. The sound is great, but nearly impossible to configure -far too complicated for a home theater receiver... ..start pushing buttons and see what happens... Even the manual is horrible. It doesn't fully explain the process on how to update the firmware. It reads to reference the Advanced Setup Menu -There is no such section in the manual -unbelievable! I had to search for it in a non-Yamaha online forum. After hours of searching online for support (Yamaha offers...

Solid Performance, Outstanding Features

I have had this receiver installed for about 3 weeks. It took many trips to the internet to find out how to activate various features. It was worth it.I am very happy with all the input options.I installed a wifi bridge to the ethernet input and the receiver notified me there was a firmware update available. Afther I downloaded the update, Pandora was added to the network options. Awesome.I use the multiple zone outputs. Great functionality.I have a very good set of ...

I had previously purchased an RX A-2000 from Amazon. It worked well for a couple days and then wouldn't power on. Amazon, being the stellar folks they are, took it back and refunded my money. Thanks Amazon! After deciding to give the Aventage line "one more try", I ordered the RX A-3000. The quality and features are 'impressive' for lack of a better word. Powerful, clean, and vivid sound. I'm running a 7.1 speaker setup with Klipsch main speakers and Aperion Audio center, surrounds, a...

Simply awesome

I have had 2 Onkyo's which were very nice, but a third that failed. Two Pioneers, descent, One Sony fair, and a Harmon Kardon which was a good receiver. The Yammies rule. I still have an old rxv 2092 flagship receiver built back in 97 and it still rocks. I also owned a Yammie htr 5890 which did not have hdmi, but incredible power and clean sound from optical. I finally decided to get the flagship 3000, and it rocks. A bit complicated at first, but i love to play and learn. By spending 180 bucks ...
