Yamaha RX-V2600 exceptionally powerful and versatile.

This Yamaha RX-V2600 is a excellent, exceptionally powerful and versatile receiver. Easy 7.1 setup with YPAO (Yamaha Parametric Room Acoustic Optimizer), its like having a easy button on the receiver(I have a sound meter and it right on). Excellent set of features and DSP modes, I never liked or used DSP's until now as they always sounded bad to me. This receiver is very powerful and spectacular sounding for both movies and music. I have not found a down side after 4 weeks of use. This is my fir...

Most bang for the buck

This reciever is simply the best in its price range. This reciever is powering a pair of Polk RTI 10's, 2 pairs of Polk FXI 5's , and a Polk CSI 3 center channel without a problem. For those you with the RTI 10's you know how power hungery those towers are and I Krank up the volume less than half way on this reciever and have a headache for the day. When compared to Denon I feel Yamaha has cleaner power and offers more power for your dollar.Wether listing to 5.1 or 7.1, everything s...

Good power and good sound

Customized equalizer frequency settings difficult to navigate even with on screen capability. Use YPAO technology with included mic for easy automated setup.

Absolutely Perfect

I recently bought this unit. I am completely pleased. The upscaling is perfect, not a hint of distortion. The sound is incredible. I've long felt that receivers either were meant for movies, or music, not both. This one does both incredibly well. It's 7 channel stereo is incredible. The DSP settings for movies are also very nice, not at all gimmicky like some other receivers. The auto setup and leveling feature with the mic is a breeze to use, cutting out hours of fiddling with levels to...

Everything Yamaha Promised. Looks and Sounds Great!!

I have always been a big fan of Yamaha and never have been disappointed. When I was looking at purchasing a new receiver I looked at a few brands. I was mostly interested in the video side of things but wanted great audio as well. The HD conversion works as stated, now everything is in 1020 on my Mitsu DLP 52" screen. I used a HDMI cable from my receiver to my TV and had no problems. The only problem I had which I read many other places was the Motorola Cable box trying to use HDMI and receive a...

Did not work out

Worked great for about 2 years. It now turns off intermittently and produces loud popping sounds. It is well vented.I am faced with replacing, not a happy camper!

Good only for two years.

Got mine in Amazon on July, '06.All was fine until a few weeks ago, when the HDMI-out port died. With my components all HDMI-based, losing that port was tantamount to losing the product.I replaced the receiver with a Denon, and all clicked again. Working now with Yamaha to get their receiver fixed - will report here how that went.

After seven years, finally retired - not enough HDMI inputs

In it's day this was a very advanced high end receiver. It was the second wave of HDMI switchers, at an affordable price point - not $3,000. Today, these sale prices make this receiver an amazing deal.February 22, 2013 Update: Wow I can't believe I've had this receiver 7 years. It is still used every single day. It still works great. The turntable has been moved to a dedicated system (2 channel only) in another room. From a home theater standpoint, there are probably better less expe...
