I'm thoroughly delighted with this receiver having setup and tested it 2 days ago, and am continuing to enjoy it.It replaced an aging sony receiver with no hdmi connections and somewhat limited power. The ability to minimize cord clutter with streamlined hdmi connections is wonderful. My dvd/sacd player, formerly requiring six cords, now connects with one hdmi cable.Whereas the sony had discreet s-video and coax video circuits, this Yamaha receiver delivers all video connections (even coax and...

I had an old Panasonic 7.1 receiver which worked great for 7 years, but it had only an older HDMI implementation with 3 in and 1 out port. It was already THX certified and the sound was what I considered "really good".Wow, compared to the A2010, the old receiver almost sounds like a mono car radio system. Even though they had the same Watts output, the Yamaha sounded better with a smoother bass and much better surround effects. The various sound options on the 2010 really make a difference and h...

I purchased the Aventage 2010 About a month ago, and after getting familiar with the unit, I love it. I has some of the coolest features. It is a network receiver and once hooked up to my network, all my devices on the network instantly recognized it and I was able to control the unit through them. I like the app. for the phone and tablets too being able to control the unit through those devices also is great feature when I am around the house listening to music. I have the receiver hooked up t...

Mind blowing receiver

I received this receiver yesterday via UPS. I took it out of the box, it was well packed and easy to remove from its container. Connecting several carver amps and Polk SDA 2.3 Signature Reference Speakers to this devise was easy. The sound that came out of this receiver was mind boggling. The video picture was so natural and the audio was awesome.

I bought this to replace a pioneer elite vs-31 think I am getting a upgrade. It is very easy to set up, network radio is disappointing though as it is canned to several few preselected commercial stations, either fee based or commercial based. The big disappointment for me is that the unit I bought(not from amazon, from newegg) will randomly shut itself off during movie playing, this is simply unacceptable for a $1500 unit. To add insult to injury, the place I bought it from(newegg) charged me $22...

I wanted to love this receiver. I have to admit that I have been using Onkyo receivers for a while now. I wanted a change and have heard that the "Sound" of the Yamaha is above average. I saw a review in "sound and Vision" and decided to try it out. The first thing I noticed is that the soundfields have names like Spectacle, Sci-fi and adventure. Kind of odd but I can give it a whirl. In hooking up, all with HDMI. I setup my 360, PS3 DirectTV HD and Oppo BP93. All was well. I left the Wii cause I...

I bought it for $1499.00 months ago, but right now only $1099.00, price decreased much bigger. The quality of sound is so so,I think that manufacturer and dealer both understood this machine is not valueable for that money.

Thank you Amazon.com and Electronics Expo for the receiver. I am delighted with the performance. I purchased an Onkyo NX-TR709 from another retailer and had nothing but problems with it for months, returning it several times for repair. Frustrated, and poorer for the non-returnable receiver, I purchased a Yamaha RX-A800 for a different retailer and was happy with the sound and functions, but the tuner was horrible and the firmware upgrade darn near impossible. Out of exasperation, from six month...

I bought this receiver about a week ago and am blown away with the feature set and sound. Enough power to fill any size room and great network features. The on-screen menu is terrific and surround sound is incredible. Have this hooked up to klipsch quintet speakers and is mind blowing sound. Would reccomend this to anyone looking for high end receiver

Great AV receiver

After having bought a succession of Pioneer Elite brand receivers for the last 25 years, I decided to purchase this Yamaha AV receiver when I bought a 3D plasma TV and needed a receiver that supported 3D video on HDMI. I looked at most of the main brands and the others (including Pioneer) were lacking in input/output connections that I needed, or were too expensive. In particular the Yamaha RX-A2010 has "legacy" S-video input and output connections, which I needed because I still use a Mitsubish...
