Yamaha RX-V867

Overall pleased with purchase. Crutchfield was great to deal with. Still getting used to the GUI, but if it lasts longer than the Onkyo I replaced, I'll be happy.

Awesome Reciever

Purchased the Reciever and found out a bunch of clever add on's that I didnt know the reciever came with. There is some great advantages with this reciever because it is able to run your second zone without the main zone to be on and you have video bypass, so video is streamed to your tv without the reciever being on . Also, you can get a Iphone app that allows you to control your reciever anywhere in your home if it is connected to the internet. This means you can be outside on your porch...

Yamaha RX-V867

Generally, a good system that I purchased expressly for the two HDMI outputs, because I run a projector, but like to have the option of having a monitor on instead-or both! The picture comes up scrambled at times, which requires me to turn the unit off, and back on. Hopefully this can be resolved. Controls are easy to use, but my wife still can't grasp the concept of the negative db for the volume indicator. The fact that the operator's manual is entirely on cd-rom, is a nuisance.

Yamaha RX-V867

Amp seems quite excellent. As an other reviewer said, the setup was a bit awkward at first. I used the auto setup and it worked fine. Sound and imagine are excellent. And it appears to be working well with my TV. The manual is quite extensive and at first a bit overwhelming but in time I have found it to be very helpful. It took a few days to get everything configured. I am using a second set of speakers in a different room so I had to both read and play with the unit. To date I'd sa...

Recommended by an expert.

My brother designs and builds home entertainment components from speakers to preamps and amplifiers (even down to fabricating his own circuit boards), so when he said that the RV-867 was the best thing going for the reduced price, I bought one. He especially likes the auto speaker calibration feature since even experts like him can spend hours getting these settings just right. I previously owned a Sony STRA4ES receiver (also bought from Crutchfield) and it served me well for lots of y...

All this for $499.99 !?!?

You can't go wrong with this receiver. I just love the extras. The Ipad app is better than the actual remote! All sources sound great, even Pandora! I am truly amazed by this receiver. I was a little worried about the 95 watts and my power hungry tower speakers, but that was unwarranted. It has more power than I need.

Wow Options galore..

Wow , seriously option loaded. This reciever replaced an older version Yamaha (HTR Reciever) I had. The sound is considerably more "Natural Sounding". The only part of the reciever that may be daunting to some people, is being overwhelmed with all of the features/options available to customize the sound fields to suit your taste. However, it can be basically "plug and play". I think my favorite feature is the streaming pandora internet radio the library is huge and very extensive. Thank you...

Great Quality and Features for the price

I would give it five stars if HDMI input #4 worked. Other than that, I am completely satisfied with this receiver. The greatest thing about the RV-867 is the YPAO function. I've always have had trouble setting up the speaker parameters with other receivers, but this solves the problem perfectly. My system consists of the following:A pair of Vandersteen 2Ce II front speakers, four Pioneer S-DS1-H surrounds, Boston center channel speaker, Pioneer in-wall presence speakers, two Polk PSW-125 sub-w...

Great receiver. Great price. Replaced an Onkyo that had overHeat problems amd HDMI ports that were going bad. The V867 is powering my home theatre and working beautifully. Epsom projector, AppleTV, DirecTV and Panosonic DVD.
