Great Receiver

When my old TV died I replaced it with a new HD LCD. One of the things that bothered me was audio sync with the picture. I started checking into the problem and found that the sound being sent to my faithful old Technics receiver was being decoded faster than the video sent to the TV was. After some research and listening at local retailers I decided on the Yamaha RX-V567.Here is why:-HDMI 1.3 compatible. Syncs audio and video for high definition sources.-Passive HDMI ...

Great Receiver. Won't Be Disappointed

This is a great sounding receiver. Spent weeks researching, driving back and forth to BB a dozen times and listening to dozens of receivers. Unless you have super sonic hearing and can hear things no one else can, no one receiver sounds exponentially better than the other. It really comes down to user interface and features.I went with this guy because the features suited my needs: plenty of HDMI inputs, 7.1 compatibility, 1080p up-scaling, acoustic room speaker setup device (really easy t...

DTS Master Audio never sounded so good

I basically went from a Harmon Kardon that wasn't capable of decoding the HD formats I wanted such as Dolby TrueHD and DTS-MA but this is a very nice intro level receiver. Pass through works beautifully as I have all 4 HDMI slots being used with all my theater gear. I paired the receiver with KIipsch Quintets and a Klipsch 450 watt sub. Its a great pair with any of Klipsch's products as you get crystal clear HD sound with the HD decoders and you can feel the action going on with the Klipsch sub....

All that and a bag of chips

I've spent almost the entire year shopping for receivers & speakers to replace my Logitech Z-5500 (a nice, affordable package, THX certified even, but very limited inputs and no Dolby TrueHD decoding). I'd get close to deciding on a receiver, but then could never decide on a which speakers to match it with. I also didn't like the idea of having to fork out over $1,000 to get a decent system together. Then one day Amazon offered this in a combo with the Klipsch HD 500 Home Theater System. It was ...

Easy Setup and Easy to Use!

I recently setup a surround sound system for my parents. I got the Yamaha RX-V567BL as a bundle through Amazon with a Klipsch HD 500 surround sound speaker package. I was more interested in the Klipsch speakers than the receiver, but since they would need one anyway, getting the Yamaha for basically free was a deal you can't pass up. I personally prefer Denon receivers, but have also had Pioneer and Sony ones in the past. I would rate this one pretty comparable to the Sony or the Pioneer.

Excellent as usual

This is my second Yamaha receiver and the last one cost almost twice as much. Yamaha has been a reliable brand that has never disappointed me and after having an Onkyo, won't ever stray again.More than enough power unless you are in a seriously designed for home theatre customized room. Easy to use and pure clean sound for a great price!I don't have an ipod yet but will be getting one and already found the dock to control it for less than $60 on Amazon. Can't wait to g...

Probably the easiest receiver to set up!!

I have owned this receiver for about one week. Sorry to say I did not buy it from Amazon. The only complaint I have is that there is no manual. I believe I downloaded it from Yamahas web site, but not sure. All I know is I made a printed copy of it and it was worth every drop of ink to print it out.I am waiting for my wife to stop watching the TV so I can use the enclosed microphone to adjust the 7.1 speakers. It looks real easy in the manual. Of all the receivers I have owned over t...

Shouldn't advertise 3-D support!

The firmware upgrade process to enable 3-D cost me 6 hours of my life that I will never get back. I'm technical, and it almost stumped me; unless you like messing around with computers and audio equipment, I'd pass on this unit if you want 3-D pass through on HDMI, or wait until they start shipping this with the correct firmware. The upgrade requires you to burn a CD and play the receiver an upgrade "song." You create this CD, not with standard Mac or PC software, but using some un-specified 3rd...

Yamaha RX-V567; not good for 3D

It took a while to get a working copy of the firmware upgrade installed (have to download wav file and create audio CD for this). I finally slowed my burn speed down to 8x to get it going; so got the firmware updated and tried 3D again. Still getting split screen (appears to be identical screens on both left & right half of my new Bravia 55" 3D. If I run the cable direct to the TV, works great, but when I run it via the RX-V567, no dice... Waiting on reply from tech support...Funn...

Does not work with the PS3

I wanted to upgrade my HT system so I bought this. But when I plugged in the PS3 via the HDMI to the yamaha receiver, the video on the yamaha would flicker on and off every now and then. Switched HDMI cables and does the same thing. I googled PS3 and seems like theres some sort of hand shake problem. Meaning that the PS3 is unable to communicate with the receiver through the HDMI. Tried my directv to the yamaha's HDMI and it works. Not sure who's at fault here, Sony's or Yamaha's??? B...
