Great receiver for the money

Receiver was very simple to set up. Lots of sound options for stereo/surround support. 4 HDMI inputs make it easy to run everything through the receiver and not have to use the TV controls. DTS is perfect. I bought the Klipsch speakers & sub with it and got $230 off for buying them together. I can really drive the volume and everything sounds great. The only problem I have is that I can't decide which surround mode sounds best.

not bad for the money

Easy to set up, connecting everything via HDMI everything is working fine , sound very clear, signal at 1080p at 60fps is good, even if specs don't state is 1080P compatible " IT IS". problem I found is the specs doesn't specify the need of a sub with a preamp built on, I was going to use my old speaker system , but my sub doesn't have an amp build on , so I need to get one , I tested with my in law sub and sounded excellent. Bottom line it is a great A/V sound superb for a small house or medium...

Great price, easy to hook up

This receiver replaces my two year old Yamaha RX-V663, which had only two HDMI inputs and also received minor cosmetic damage after falling out of the audio rack as I was unhooking everything when I moved back in March. This new receiver pretty much has all the same features of my old one, with two additional HDMI inputs. The only two downsides of this receiver is that it lacks the (switched/unswitched) AC "convenience" outlets on the back, and it doesn't have the on-screen menu feature.

Worked all year... sort of..

Had the predecessor to this thing, the 465, for a few months before it started acting up. Never did get it to work with the Wii. Somehow it lost it's 'surround' brain a couple of months ago and was perpetually in simulated surround mode. Then it decided to take random breaks and just shut down. Now it is on for 2-3 minutes at a time before it shuts down. It's only 15 months old. I had my last Denon for nine years and still sold it for $300 bucks. This Yamaha receiver is both things to me.... my ...

Excellent receiver with superb sound

I bought the Yamaha 467 receiver about a week ago from Best Buy. The receiver is great. Set up took about 15 minutes. Very easy to do especially since there is no OSD. The sound is great. I have Directv, a PS3, and Xbox 360 attached via HDMI to the receiver and HDMI out to the TV. I tested movies on Directv and Blu Rays on the PS3. Everything sounded wonderfully. I love seeing the DTS Master Audio and Dolby True HD on the receiver display.

Great receiver with low T.H.D.; built very well!

Some people are giving this receiver a bad rap. All I can say is wow!!!This is the cleanest sounding low power receiver at 105 watts per 5 channels that I have ever heard. I replaced my Sony 6.1 surround Receiver with this Yamaha because I wanted a future proof Receiver with H.D.M.I. ports, digital coax, and optical. This Receiver kicks some butt. It has 4 H.D.M.I. ports and one for output to your High-Def T.V., also 2 digital coax and 2 optical ports as well. It also has...

Much better then the Denon AVR391 !!

I had the Denon AVR391 and it kept freezing on me, by the 3rd day the center speaker would not work. I took the Denon back and got this Yamaha Receiver and it works perfect. Easy to use the menus for setting the speaker adjustments. Its nice to have something that works. The Yamaha has way better quality sound then the Denon AVR391 anyway.
