CAUTION: What is claimed and what ACTUALLY occurs are two different things...sort of a Schrodinger's Cat event - good luck!
I was excited to purchase this adaptor - albeit pricey - to allow my laptop to run my two Pro Art monitors by Asus (awesome monitors) from the digital port. it does not work. Tripp Lite tried to help fix but in the end was empty handed and now if have a $250 investment in worthless hardware. I suppose I can try to return but time got away from me and it is probably too late (that is the problem with buying anything on line is the return process) Started out excited and ended up totally frustrate...

Does Not Always Work in Mirror Mode
I purchased this device so that we could drive two identical monitors (in different locations) with a single DisplayPort port on my (November 2013 era) Windows 7 Professional computer. We discovered that the default (and apparently only) operation mode is "Expanded Mode", which made our two 1920x1080 monitors appear to be a single logical 3840x1080 monitor. Great Product to Extend Displays
We got this gorgeous Dell OptiPlex Micro 7040 for our president, but he wanted to run 3 monitors in extended mode. The Dell comes with a display port and an HDMI port, so we got this splitter to split the display port into two monitors, and it works perfectly in Windows 7 Pro. May not work as expected
One of the users at my workplace wished to add a third monitor to their new Dell Precision 5810 Tower. The installed nVidia Quadro K620 video card has both DVI and DP outputs, so a 2-way splitter such as an MST hub should have been the right fit for this scenario: one monitor on DVI, 2 on the MST hub.
