Outdoor Use Not Great

Having the camera to look outside of the window is horrible, morning or late night. Configurating this darn thing to work with my wireless DSL took longer than I anticipated. Technical support was adequate once your able to talk to someone that is knowledgeable.

Good Cam, Poor Instructions

Trendnet includes instructions for setting up the cam but nothing about interfacing it with your router so you can see it on the Internet. I had to do a search on the Internet to learn about Port Forwarding in order to make it work. Overall a good purchase.

The most horrible experience EVER! WARNING!!!

I am an experienced computer enthusiast. I am an over-clocker and an app builder for android. This camera has the worst software and firmware I have ever seen. It took me two hours of messing with it the three calls to customer service totaling 4 hours. They could not even get it to sync wireless. WIFI. If that doesn't tell you enough. I think the camera is OK but the firmware and software are HORRIBLE. Some say they have got it to work but most others have had the same issues as me. On...

Very Satisfied

I have no idea why the only review on this cameras is from an experienced egghead kinda guy and he hates it. I have a fair amount of experience myself not a lot in networking but I do build my own computers and have done so for many years now. I have three of these cameras all up and running perfectly and wirelessly in about an hours time with no need to call customer service at all! They are great especially at the price. I would say my only complaint is the focus is a bit soft but not even eno...

Excellent camera for the price.

For the price of this camera, I'm very satisfied with the results. Image quality is decent. This is a stand alone camera, no computer needs to be on at all times for remote viewing. There is a free app for the Iphone, I do recommend the paid one (It gives you full screen viewing and zoom) A little cryptic on the instruccions for set-up. You will need to connect it to a pc via ethernet (cable provided) to change the default IP to one in the range of your router. Also you need to enable port fowar...

Great buy-

I agree with other reviewer and would recommend this product to anyone that needs this camera for a home or small to medium business. The resolution on this camera screams and the IR lens are hidden. 15' in pitch black is all I need . Thanks Amazon!

Easy Setup/Poor Image

I purchased this camera and set it up without much trouble. Make sure to check the type of web encryption you are using on your wireless network (WEP, WPA ...). You can check, if you are not sure, by clocking the wireless icon "signal bars" on the lower right corner of you windows tool bar (usually a couple of icons away from date/time) and hold your mouse cursor over you network broadcasted name "SSID" your network uses. You should know your wireless security key. My web encryption was WPA2. Th...

Works fine with a bit of tweaking, good for $$$

I don't know what the beef is with the "experienced" app builder. I am a reasonably handy person with no prior experience, and I muddled through. If you want plug and play, I haven't heard of a solution with this functionality in this price range. All cameras in this category have setup issues. I've built up to 4 of these at work over 3 years. I have updated firmware, configured the cameras to work seamlessly with my wireless network, and control them from my iPhone and iPad with a third part...

This is now my video baby monitor.

I too am an "IT Guy" but this couldn't have been any easier to setup. I followed the directions exactly except I decided to use WPS. See the PDF, but basically just click on connect and click the button on your router and it's all set up. My router is only a few months old so I'm sure that helped. The colors could be better in the video but that is more of the technology available at this price point. Since the camera just arrived today I will come back later to update my review.E...

Couldn't get wireless to work

I simply couldn't get the wireless function to work. The camera worked just fine when the ethernet cable was connected but I couldn't get it to work with my wireless network. The camera recognized my network but would not communicate with it. After 2 and a half frustrating hours, I gave up and returned the camera. I personally set up my wireless network and have connected several computers and my phone to it without difficulty so it seems reasonable that I should have been able to connect th...
