Terrible Setup Software

I read all of the reviews for this product before buying and decided to take a chance. I was very disappointed with the setup software of this camera. The users manual for IPView Pro 2.0 could not be any more unhelpful. If you want to know what the "Video Frequency" option does here is what the manual says, "Video Frequency: This option allows you to set the video frequency". No duh. It does not tell you what "Video Frequency" does or means. What is the difference between choosing on...

Very Satisfied User

I have five of these cams looking out different windows providing security coverage. They record 24/7 and loop after two weeks. They have been running trouble free for a couple of years now. I would definitely purchase these again. I found them straight forward to setup, but it did take me a little while to get the focus exactly right.

Least user-friendly product ever.

I was not able to set up this camera on my network. I am a fairly savvy user with many wireless devices on my home network, but I just could not make this work. The manual is completely useless, and Trendnet's tech support isn't much better. The included software detected the camera, but was not able to connect to it. I tried reconfiguring the camera a dozen different ways (both physically and through software), but I never succeeded in getting a single frame of video, just connection errors.I...

Good camera for the price

I bought the predecessor to this camera (TV-IP500W), which didn't have the audio feature, and tested it for a couple weeks. I then bought two more and have used them for a little over 2 months, now. The included instructions were not the best. I work with CCTV and was able to figure out the setup steps by trial and error. Once I figured out the setup it was relatively easy; the manual should include simple step-by-step instructions for the novice. Camera has good image during daytime and decent ...

A good value for your money

I have been using this camera in a protected outdoor setting under the eve of my garage for about 6 mo. It is outdoors but protected from rain and snow. It is doing a great job! My chief complaint is that the camera software is a little quirky and the motion detection is ineffective in the outdoor setting due to cloud shadow and wind motion. The picture is good and the automatic exposure controls work well. The email, timed and continuous recording functions work great giving you control over ...

Great Camera!

I use these cameras as Barn cams for monitoring animal births. Installed in very rough conditions, cold, hot, and dirty. I use my home wireless network and also Dyndns service to view remotely. I have yet to have any kind of freeze up or malfunction and have been very impressed with camera and software. Bought one a year ago to evaluate. Just bought to more.

Great little camera

I have 2 of these, just bought 2 more, if that says anything! This has much better video (although it's still VGA) and better low-light video (although it's still not IR or night vision) than the older models I have (possibly IP500W?) Handles very high light levels well- can point it in the direction of a sunset & see clearly. Love how it just works. Set and forget. Have one connected 24/7, and one on a timer, when it gets power, it always connects to wifi. One downside- field of vision is quite...
