real good price, with 2 flaws

well i recently bought this laptop and i was very satisfied. it was fan, easy to use, and very light weight. the only thing is it does not have a dvd/cd hard drive so you will have to perchance it separate but over all it is a really good buy. no problems with it yet, and i will most likely not have any. all my friends have this laptop and it just works wonders. i can do everything i want to do with out it being slow or freezing, and i can have multiple things running with no issues.the other is...

Perfect balance

I just received my S1125 a couple of days ago and I'm very pleased with it. I've looked hard at the various models in the area between a netbook and a full-sized laptop, and I think this is one of the best machines of that type. The display is gorgeous; 1366 x 768 at 11.6" is really nice and the Radeon 3200 graphics chip is excellent. I bought it along with the Toshiba external DVD drive and additional 2GB of RAM; so far both are working very well. As far as I'm concerned, this thing is the perf...

A good compromise between size and power

This is a really nice machine; it strikes a good balance between being compact and powerful. It's not the most powerful thing out there, but it does have a dual-core 64 bit processor; nothing to sneeze at. I was able to run basic Photoshop tasks without a blink, and [...] worked just fine, under Windows 7 and Ubuntu Linux. When I pushed it a bit more, doing some graphics programming, it did start to choke a little, but then again I was running a 32 bit Linux. So, although I didn't ...

Great size (not too big or too small) and great performance

My tiny Asus netbook was too small to do anything other than casual web browsing and emailing, and when I started to need a laptop for on-site business at clients, it just didn't cut it anymore. I didn't want a huge boat-anchor laptop made to just sit in one place, or a super-slim, super-expensive business laptop either. So I got this Toshiba because it was a great compromise between a netbook and a full sized laptop, and the price was also about halfway between those two. Like a netb...

Much better than a netbook!

As another reviewer mentioned, this laptop is a powerhouse! The screen is just beautiful, and 11.6 inches is perfect for viewing. The current 9 inch mini netbooks are too far on the small side, for my liking, butthis one straddles the line between portability & pleasant viewing, easily. It's very sleek, very thin, solidly built, though light.Windows 7 is an absolute marvel, erasing those awful memories of the vista experiment.Windows 7 is so intuitive & well thou...

Please note!

Amazon merged the two models into one page and fixed most of their info, but they have the battery life listed as nine hours in one place and six hours in another; the six hour figure is correct (thanks, Philip!).Also, the cheaper model (T115D-S1120) has a single core 1.6 GHz processor, not a dual core 1.5 GHz processor. This is currently still incorrect on one part of the page.

I love this thing.

I have a 16 inch Toshiba dual core/4gb ram I purchased a year ago and loved it, but I wanted something mobile with a longer battery life. I love Toshiba quality and decided they can have my business again. I was looking around for a netbook but then this came out. I went with the dual core just in case I needed to photoshop and watch movies on it later. I've looked at 10.1 inch screens, and they were just so tiny and have to scroll a lot when when reading online. 11.6 inch screen is perfect, I ...

Great little laptop few minor niggles

i've had the T115D-S1125 for a couple of weeks now and love it. Screen is sharp, the black case isn't as bad a finger print magnet as i thought it might be. keyboard is good to type on and hdmi out is very useful. Few minor things stop me from giving 5 stars. Battery life is around 4 hours or less when doing more intensive operations like playing video. when using hdmi out to display to a tv, video stutters a little mainly on hulu, my macbook pro is fine as a comparison. trackpad takes a b...

A Powerhouse of a netbook!

I recently bought this netbook... it is faster than my desktop. This thing is a freaking powerhouse and runs very smoothly. The screen is crystal clear. The keyboard is great, not too small like some netbooks, although the trackpad does get some getting used to, it takes about 10 mins. I recommend this netbook for $499....you can't get a better netbook, or even desktop for that matter. This sounds lame but I was able to run WoW very smoothly on it, even in crowded areas I was still getting ...

Blows the Doors off a Netbook

For a few more dollars than a netbook you get a compact computer that approaches the perfofmance of a regular old laptop. My only complaint is that there is not a good keyboard feel. All the keys are on the same plane and I find myself losing my finger placement. Overall very satisfied though.
