I am using my Toshiba Symbio 160HD4 with my Sharp Aquos LC45GD7U set which has TV Guide on Screen and i.Link support with DTCP copy protection so I can record all digital cable channels received including encrypted premium channels decoded using the

I purchased this along with my 62HMX95 about 6 months ago, when I first started using it I had a lot of issues with the audio not getting recorded, so much I called toshiba and got an RMA, needless to say the problem seems to have taken care of itself and unless the drive fills up, I dont have any problems with its operation at all which is to say, not much! It records and plays and thats about it, you can fast forward/reverse and jump a few minutes in either direction at a time and pause, but

Would not record
I have one of the TVs this is suppose to work with. I could control it from the TV, play back the prerecorded samples on it, and they looked beautiful. But I was never able to get it to record, under any circumstances. Ended up tossing it in the trash.

Works for more than tosiba tv's
I purchased a Tosiba Symbio when it first came out from Fry's in Indianapolis. At the time I didn't realize it was only supposed to work with Tosiba TV's I hooked it up to my Mitsubishi 62" DLP TV & it's worked fine until last week when it finally died. I just purchased my 2nd Symbio & I plan on using it for the next several years with my TV. It's a little disappointing in that it doesn't have a built in tuner but considering how few HDD based DVR's are on the market you can use without a
