For the price it is hard to beat this receiver if you are looking for a good quality stereo receiver with a phono input. The sound quality is exceptional for jazz and good for classical music. My only complaints are:1) The phono input seems to pass too much bass. An equalizer might help.2) The electronic volume control has discrete steps resulting in slight popping to be heard while adjusting the volume. An analog control would have been better for volume adjustment. The actual product that was...

A few weeks ago my stereo receiver died. I have had it for ages and it served me well. I looked on Amazon for something fairly inexpensive but rated well. I discovered this unit and ordered it.It was a breeze hooking it up. And once I got all the wires where they needed to go I hit the power switch. I would say the old receiver was comparable as far as price (at the time) and ability. But I was amazed at what I was hearing from FM stereo. I heard nuances that I had not heard before. I ha...

After a complete review of most receivers at many popular stores on the Web, the Teac AG-790A from Amazon was my choice. I took it out of the box, plugged in my phono, CD, & tape decks, plugged in the Teac receiver to the outlet, pushed the power buttons, and I had music. I have large floor speakers and the sound came out crisp, clear, and loud. What more does one need? I got the lowest price, plus free shipping!

First my qualifications: I am older, with a large collection of vintage vinyl, and a love of on-air classical music. My stereo system uses two Acoustic Research AR-2Ax speakers. I am not a modern audiophile. That said, I am completely satisfied with the Teac AG-790A receiver. I required phono inputs, and this relatively inexpensive receiver has those and they work. I also listen to a local classical music FM station (Santa Barbara still does have one) and this unit has endeared itself to me by th...

I bought this a little over a week ago and I'm extremely pleased with my purchase. I had a "bookshelf" stereo system in my bedroom where I have my home gym set up but after years of use it finally went on me. So, my intent was to by a reasonably priced CD changer and receiver to put in my bedroom and this fit the bill. It is a no nonsense stereo receiver. It is very easy to set up and sounds great. It really is loud, and I have some high end floor standing speakers that I attached to it and boy,...

This receiver is great. It replaced a Technics receiver I had owned since 1977. I had recently replaced the surrounds on my woofers and this receiver with the 100 watts really tested my refurbished high end Epicure 3 way speakers. They sound as good as new back in 1977. It can blow the windows out of a 1200 square foot basement. Awesome!!!

This is my first Teac unit ever, and it replaced a vintage Pioneer receiver that granted me twenty-eight years of faithful service. I am quite pleased with this "old-fashioned" two channel receiver. It sounds great, is solid-feeling, and is easy to operate. Although I was somewhat wary to purchase a unit without the many "turning knobs" an old codger like me is accustomed to, the push-buttons on this model are easy to use and find even in the dark. I'm pleased to have a receiver with a remote...

I had a 7.1 channel Home Theater Receiver (HTR), but I got rid of it in favor of this stereo receiver. For me, the HTR was excessively complicated with too many menus to work through just to play music from my collection of LP's, cassette's, or CD's. The Teac AG-790A is simple to use for playing music. This receiver can control four speakers. The description of this product does not mention that if you want to control two sets of speakers (4 in total), they should be identical. There is no wa...

It took me a while to find a stereo receiver at an optimal quality to price ratio !I am no Audio expert; I just like to listen to good quality classical and jazz music and this receiver does a great job for a great price. It's simple to setup, easy to use, and can receive most audio components (i.e. turn table, cd player, and tape recorder/player). The radio works well and receives most radio stations in my area.

The Teac AG-790A is a great budget receiver. It being used in my office, attach to 4 ceiling speakers. The sound is decent for the office use. The loud button increase the bass response in low volume. The binding post allows for banana plugs, so it's easy to connect to the speakers. I also hooked another set of Polk Audio M30 speakers. There's a speaker A and B switch. So now I can also enjoy music in my private office too. Overall, it's a good bang for the bucks.
