Abysmal battery life; poor ergonomics

Yes, its a good voice recorder
Im a journalist, It produce an clear and excelent quality of sound in the records and its very easy transfer to my pc. But its very slow to star when it is off, it takes ten seconds. If you are a reporter it could be a problem.

great product, high sony quality
I am pretty pleased with this purchase. My only criticism is that is does not pick up too much distance. I purchased this recorder through Amazon to record my college classes. Luckily, I am able to record without a microphone, but I have to sit close to the professor and can't hear students on the other side of the classroom. I listen to it through my computer so it is easier for me to hear. If you are going to record more than 15 feet away from the source, consider getting an external microphon...

Garbage item
I bought this recorder yesterday and returned it to Best Buy today. Very poorly designed. Navigation button may fall apart at any time. Recording quality is extremely poor. Instead of this junk, I purchased a digital recorder by Olympus. (WS_321 M). Extremely pleased with the Olympus product. Olympus product is very well designed and easy to use. Do not waste your money on this Sony junk.

Overpriced & poor instructions
I bought this recorder because it was the only one I could find at Best Buy that was compatible with a Mac. It was double the price of all of the others at equal capabilities.I have met other students using the same one and we are all dumbfounded with it; It does not turn off when you turn it to the off position. Totally loved this recorder
I bought this so I could record the presentations at WPPI, but now I am going to end up using it to record nature sounds, interviews with my brides and grooms, lectures, and other things as well. I couldn't be more pleased. I was able to record about 5-6hrs of audio before needing to switch the batteries on it. The Little Red Machine
I use this recorder to record manager meetings, customer comments and sales meetings. This recorder picks up voices better than any other mini recorder I have ever had. The MP3 files play back much clearer than I expected. I would recommend this unit to anyone. No complaints.

Cute recorder, so-so sound quality
The recorder is basically very easy to use however the sound quality, even for straight up voice recording is so-so at best. It is really easy to get distortion even in an ideal circumstance i.e. quiet room, no background noise, dictation-style recording. Overall it suits the purpose that I bought it for but I'd like to see an improvement in sound quality in future models and I'd probably look at other brands if I were to purchase this kind of device again.

Notetaker and Mac compatibility
As a writer I needed the notetaker for recording ideas at various times of the day and night and the added bonus of a built-in Mp3 player motivated my purchase of this unit.
