There are three cameras that one should consider the Canon Powershot SX40 the Panasonic DMC FX150 and then this one the Sony HX200V.Researching these three is interesting because you will find sites listing each of the three as the very best over the other two. I found that the camera did a good job
What's great about it: 30x zoom lense What's not so great: No way to turn off picture review or picture preview. I had the Sony DSC-H50 with 15X zoom, but always wanted a larger zoom. So when the DSC-HX200V came out I thought that it would be a great replacement especially with the 30x. I like all of the features that the 200 has. It takes great low light pictures even in cathedrals and castles. Even pictures of the cities at nights are great. So over all it is a very good camera.However...

A solid, versatile camera
This camera is a fine example of what a "bridge" camera should be. It is easy to use but also allows for a lot of experimentation with its more advanced features. You can set your camera to use classic controls such as Aperture or Shutter priority modes or switch to automated functions. The software built into this camera is amazing. The 30X lens focuses very fast.The camera allows full manual exposure and focus. One of the best point and shoot cameras out there.
What's great about it: All the different features available to use. What's not so great: Don't expect to take camera out of the box and use all the features. This is my forth digital point and shoot camera in my picture taking history.
