Don't be scared, it IS good

Reading the reviews told me everything I needed to know. Almost. I knew it had the HDMI ports that I needed. I new that it would solve the cord problem for me. I knew where to point the remote. But I was still scared.

Very Good Flat Screen TV Speakers

The Sony HT-CT100 Sound Bar speaker system is everything it was advertised to be. Excellent sound, separate powered woofer, easy to set up, and unobtrusive in the bedroom. If you are looking for "surround sound" systems, this is not for you. But, if you would like to enhance the typically poor sound inherent with flat panel (LCD and/or plasma TV's) TV's due to their very small packaging, this system will certainly fill the bill. One hint -- the remote sensor is located in the sound bar; not in the ...

Very good product!

I purchased this to give us more sound in a very large room where it is nearly impossible to run a traditional surround sound system's cables in a hidden manner. The room is nearly 600 sq feet and has a vaulted ceiling. Setup and configuration was easy after reading the manual. The sub-speaker is only on the right side and I noticed that if the sub-woofer was placed near an object that obstructed the speaker, then the sound wasn't as good. After moving the sub-woofer to another location, the sou...

Sounds like a 10" woofer

This is a really impressive sound bar system. When compared to home theater systems with separate components, it does not deliver a sound stage that is as wide. The sound quality that this little guy pumps out is amazing. Breaking glass sounds so crisp, low frequencies are impressive. I was watching cable TV, and there was a commercial playing, the upright bass being used came through will amazing precision. "It was so clear and rich that you could tell it was a double bass." Anyway this is a ve...

Simple, good sound for $

I got this product after a recomendation from Greg at Crutchfield. It is super simple, sounds great, and if you're using Sony equipment, the Bravia Synch is fantastic. I'm glad I stayed with Sony since my TV is a Sony XBR. The simplity is just what I wanted, and everyone agrees the sound is great. I've heard better systems, with wires and speakers everywhere, and about $1000 more in cost. If you want a simple solution that gives you 95% of the performance.. this is it. Surround Sound Si...

great sound, great value

The amount and quality of sound you get for your money with this system is amazing. The sound-bar sits on top of my TV stand perfectly. If you don't want to hassle with rear speakers and want a system with three HDMI inputs, this is your system.

Best Bang for Bucks

I read every single one of the reviews on here and at CNet before I made the decision to purchase this product. And just like everyone else, I wanted something without all the wires and with HDMI inputs and output for my 47inch Flat Panel, cable box, BluRay, and AppleTV. I was a little skeptical at first whether the equipment would be loud enough for my taste. I am a 27 years old that likes to watch a lot of movies and listen to my music at a very loud volume. Most of the negative feedbacks on t...

exceeds expectatins

This is for us folks who simply want high quality sound to compliment an LCD or Plasma TV without the hassle of setting up a 5-7 speaker system. You have what you see in the illustration. A subwoofer (housing the amplifier) , and a slender "soundbar". I was attracted to the simplicity of the "soundbar HT-CT 100 as well as the price. It's $200 less than the Bose Cinemate, which is the closest to this type of system. It literally took seconds to set this up via HDMI, and I was blown...

Great alternative to 5.1

This system is perfect for those of us that want great sound and bass, but don't want the hassle or expense of a 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound system. I have mine hooked up using all HDMI cables (2 cables in from a Comcast HD DVR and a PS3, and 1 out to my TV). I'm able to control the volume of the system with my Comcast remote as well. The sound bar is pretty thin and easy to hide away on a lower shelf under the TV, and with only one wire running to the subwoofer it makes for a much cleaner setup t...
