Best Purchase Ever

Okay, okay. I'm not sure it's the 'best purchase ever'. But these are really awesome and they do unlock that last bit of performance out of the PHA-3 and the MDRZ7. Yes, they're pricey. But the materials used are top notch and let's face it, all the high end audiophile gear uses braided balanced cables like this. It's just the best. I think i'll try to save up and buy the portable single jack version of these as well.

Well worth it.

I have MDR Z7's and a PHA-3 which I use with a NWZ-ZX1 and various computer audio systems. I ordered the MUC-B20BL1 from B&H after about a month of using the MDR Z7's with the stock balanced cable. I was not expecting a big change with the new cable as the sound was already very good but I was curious as to why the Sony team that produced these Hi Res products had gone to the trouble of designing and releasing the cable. The results after fitting the MUC-B20BL1 in place of the stock balanced cab...

Wow! awesome upgrade to the original cables for Sony MDR Z7

A definite must for anyone who has the Sony PHA-3 headphone amp with it's balanced outputs and the Sony MDR Z7 headphones. Sound more detailed, deep bass, mid range defined clearly. They look the business too. Listen to music on Tidal and have lots of hi-res flac files all which sound even better now. I'm from the UK and sony often restricts the market for some of it's products the MUC-B20BL1 cables are one of them. Was so happy to get mine from B&H as a Sony authorised dealer. Wanted to avoid a...

Kimber Kables Do Improve the Sonic Resonance but Probably Only Discernible to the CRITICAL Listener

This review in on the “Balanced” Kimber Kables for the Sony MDR Z7’s.First of all let me say that I am in no way an expert; however, I know what I like and what’s pleasing to my ear. Listening IMO is subjective with a splattering of objectivity. I’m not suggesting you spend $200 plus on the Kimbers…just want to give you my full impression. My impressions of the Kimber Kables are that they will only make a difference (or not) with the following types of recordings:Hi-Res - Yes - starting at 48.1kH...

Rubbish save your $230 and just get a $4 Amazon basic cable.

Rubbish, don't be fooled by this nonsense. This is just for rich clowns who don't have anything better to do with their money, if you study physics you would understand why these cables are pointless and its price is hyper inflated. They cost like $1 to manufacture.

crocodile tears

In your quest for audiophile heaven, this guy is a must have, but be sure you go into (in my case) to the midi file and select the very highest setting you can select, otherwise your causeway is damned up, and your severely underutilizing this guy. Once you do your z7 operates the way it is supposed to. Believe me you'll get a little bit of auditory heaven. You cannot use higher then cd quality until you do and u'll cry crocodile tears, if you've been paying for Tidal all this time.

Excellent upgrade

I must say that this line is exquisitely amazing! Once you replace the original one with this one you'll find out that the sound is much better!
