My DVD player died and I had just purchased a flat screen a couple of years ago so I didn't want to upgrade to a SMART TV yet. I choose this Blu-Ray DVD because of price and features. It did not come with cable. For best result, buy HDMI cable. One plugs in to DVD player, the other end plugs in to TV. It detected updated software, I answered YES to update and waited. Awesome little Blu ray player
We got this blu ray player to put in my 2 year old's room so she could watch tv occasionally in her room. We didn't want to spend money on another satellite receiver and installation so this was the perfect alternative. Not only is she able to watch her movies but with the wifi capability she can also have the option of netflix, hulu, amazon prime, and of course music. * Player has to be on the home menu before it will let you open the disc player.\n* Takes a few minutes to load the apps\n* Pandora wouldn't work the first 2 months I had the product, said the player didn't support the app and take a minute to load from one song to the next, randomly popping up with the error message that the device doesn't support the app again and won't leave the screen for several moments, sometimes having to unplug the device. Can't go wrong with Sony
Works great had everything I need it in it .\nMy daughter bought one on sale for a great price told me about it I got one, my brother got one. What I like about it it comes with automatic 90 day warrantee . Has A lot of apps. Plays regular DVD and Blu-ray also has a USB connection , great quality all around

Unit ok, customer service awful
Replaced a Samsung Blu-ray with this Sony. I Like the small footprint and features of the player. On/off button on the remote will not work and an hour or so on the phone and chatting with Sony customer service (mainly on hold) was absolutely no help. I can turn the unit on with other buttons on the remote but afraid that may give out also. Still, I will keep the unit because once I get it working it works very well. Piece of junk
This thing is a piece of junk. Works fine out of the box. A little over a month after owning it a software update is available. It won't update over Wi-Fi. I download the firmware to a USB drive and it still fails to update.\n\nThis is useless now because since it recognizes an update is available it refuses to run apps.
