AVOID - SlingMedia doesn't support warranty
This review is from: Sling Media Slingbox PRO-HD SB300-100 (Personal Computers) I was a happy users for about 11 months. Oh - it was a pain to setup some times. They tricked me into buying the HD version when they still don't support HD on the Mac OS/X. (They had an upgrade program and claimed my older Slingbox wouldn't be supported anymore which turned out not to be true.)But today, about a week before the 1 year hardware warranty is set to expire the box just quit....

Mac users - Beware!!
This review is from: Sling Media Slingbox PRO-HD SB300-100 (Electronics) Although its a PRO-HD product but NOT for Mac users.If you are a Mac user, it does not do what it is supposed to do. You will get only "Standard Def" picture qualiy and not HIGH DEFINITION picture. That to me is pure cheating. Nowhere on the product info it says anything to this effect. I am returning mine.

Both worked reasonably well for the last few years (a few glitches here and there). I use all operating systems, and have viewed using the SlingPlayer on Windows, Mac, Blackberry, and iPhone. Good product, but has its limitations
I had realistic expectations going in to the purchase, but feel that I should point it out in this review. The box works as advertised, but the quality of your picture when viewing at a remote location is going to be limited by the quality of your internet. The picture at another location is not HD. Sling Media Admittedly Bricked my Slingbox with a Passive Update
My Slingbox Pro HD worked swimmingly for a couple of years (hence the extra star) until this week. Whatever update referenced in Sling Media's SOL apology (see copy below) bricked my Slingbox. Buyer Beware. This product is not ready for the mainstream yet. It is flawed with bugs and troubled setup.The setup concept is supposed to be simple. Plug the slingbox into your router at home, go to slingbox.com, create an account and you will be able to see and setup your slingbox.That's the concept.
