Unreliable piece of equipment

I already sent this into be fixed once because it would constantly freeze up and I had to pull the batteries (and take it off the shoe) to get it to reset. Now it zooms and retracts over and over (unnecessarily) till the motor gets stuck (it doesn't seem to be able to adjust to 105mm position) about 25% of the time I try to use it. What is

Great addition to your kit

Being a minimalist and cheap, I just wanted a sturdy TTL unit without all the frills. This flash is awesome. You can tilt and swivel the head and it has a built in diffuser, the range is outstanding. Poor product, under exposure
This review is from: Sigma EF-530 DG ST Electronic Flash for Canon DSLR (Electronics) I got my sigma dg st today, and i tried it. It is a bad product. Basically the flash come with the camera is stronger than this unit. Every photo i took are underexposed. I received the unit today and returned it back today. Don't waste your time for this unit.

Sigma External Flash

The Sigma external flash is easy to use, and is priced perfectly for someone who is just beginning. I highly recommend it, and have never been let down by a Sigma product.

Does what it is designed for - I like it
This review is from: Sigma EF-530 DG ST Electronic Flash for Nikon DSLR (Electronics) I just picked up one for 108 before the latest price drop - and now I may get another for a backup.Yes, it is a very basic flash .... no pc sync port - no optical slave. However, for candid and event photography that you plan on leaving the flash on camera it works great for the cost. I use it with a Nikon D200 and so far so good. Why pay all the extra $ for a Nikon SB600 - SB900 if you do not
