Perfect for my needs

Love this blueray player. The smart features are exactly what I was hoping for. Netflix streams flawlessly. Amazon prime movies are a great addition.

Good with Blue Ray, but not for DVDs

This player does well with blue ray discs, but it has two major shortcomings. 1) Images from regular DVDs are terrible, far worse than I have seen from my old Sony player or from 480p cable content. 2) The player does not have a port for an infrared (IR) extension. I have a wall mounted TV with devices in a closet, but I can't run an IR extension through the wall for this device like I can for my cable box. Since I also have a Samsung TV, I can control basic functions (Play, Stop, FF, etc.) thro...

Good 3D player for the money.

As of today the DVD player has performed perfectly. And I do like the screen mirroring feature with my phone. It is great for when you have guests over so you can do a slide show from your phone. For the price I think it is a great DVD player and the 3D performs perfectly.

Purchased the Samsung BD-HM59C and have been trying to get it to work for three days. This is the second one I have purchased, took the first one back as it would not recognize my Wireless Router and this is doing the same thing. Says I should contact my Internet provider and have. They told me that it was not their system. Going to take this one back also.

Great BluRay 3D player with WiFi!

This player is fantastic. I purchased it just based upon the box description. It delivers everything it claims to deliver and more. Had I looked at a few of the negative reviews posted first, I might have missed a great deal and a very good DVDs player with built in wifi. And contrary to a one star review with a disgruntled buyer who took it back to the store, I found the player to work great and after the obligatory online update, it had access to a whole lot of apps including Amazon video and ...

Smart features are lacking

I just bought this product from Costco. Unfortunately, I had to return it promptly for one main reason: the "smart tv" features of the device are severely lacking (as of Sept 2014). There are 15 different streaming services that are supported, compared to the Sony BDP-BX520 that I ended up replacing it with (also from Costco) which has around 4 times as many. The two most notable absent services on the Samsung are Amazon Instant Video and support for DLNA connected devices (I stream movies & mus...

Amazon Instant Video will NOT work but with the BD-FM59C yoiu can just add it on like their tablet products

Piece of junk! Their older BD-FM59C had SmartHub and you could install new application but THAT HAS BEEN REMOVED. You can no longer add any applications other then the pre-loaded one. Amazon Instant Video will NOT work but with the BD-FM59C yoiu can just add it on like their tablet products. There is NO such option. Want to add BBC to you BD-FM59C not problem, With the BD-HM59C you have OPTIONS. It is impossible to add it since it's not preloaded. You are forever trapped to only application that...

Does Not Have 5 GHz Wi-Fi Capabilities as Stated on Box

I bought this model of Samsung Blu-ray player because it states on the box "Wi-Fi Built-In. Features both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands for a smoother, more reliable wireless network connection." I have two networks at home, one at 2.4 GHz and the other at 5 GHz, and wanted a Blu-ray player for streaming movies over the 5 GHz frequency. I connected the unit, went through set-up and it recognized the 2.4 GHz network in a flash and connected almost immediately. It did not recognize my 5 GHz ne...
