HTiB Please. Extra Features, Hold The Cheese

Some HTiB (home theater in a box) systems are inflexible, hard to use and offer questionable performance with cheap, flimsy construction. One might even call them "cheesy." The Samsung HT-C6500 Blu-ray/DVD Home Theater System is not one of these systems. It offers solid audio and video performance, a wealth of online streaming features, including Netflix, Pandora and VUDU, built in Blu-ray, CD and DVD playback with pretty nice upconversion, WiFi networking and ample power to drive the 5.1 cha...

Good System, Good Extras, Okay Interface

First of all, the main capabilities of this HTiB are great. Excellent sound quality and Blu-ray capability.I'm no audiophile, but I think the sound quality is superb. It's something else when you have to turn around to see if a noise behind you is real. It booms when it needs to and is accurate and quiet when required. I also like how it will utilize different speakers depending on what you're doing. Playing a war game with explosions and gunfire going off all around you? The s...

Can't go wrong with this

This is only the second HTIB I've dealt with and both are Samsungs and blu-ray. The first is my dad's that he got about 1-2 years ago, still works great but lacks ...well everything this has, it's just a blu-ray player and speakers nothing special. This on the other hand has a ton of features all a great but to me could use some work too.So far this has played everything I've throw at it be it DVDs and Blu-rays as well as streaming media from my computer and iPhone 3GS and over the i...

Non-Stop Lip Sync Problems! (A/V Sync)

This unit would be 5 stars... if the audio and video would sync properly. But, alas, it doesn't.This unit has an A/V Sync control feature that lets you set a number of 0 to 300. That refers to ms delay for audio, so the larger the number, the more delay you apply to the audio. The problem is that Samsung assumes you will only have audio ahead of the video, but for me (and apparently another owner; see below), the video was ahead of the audio. So delaying the audio made the sync even ...

Not user friendly AT ALL

Bought this product hoping it would be a quick affordable option for home theatre purposes. It has been nothing but a headache. When we opened the box to try the blu ray we found that it required an update before playing the first video. Then once the update was downloaded it took HOURS to upload to the player. The instructions online give NO suggestion as to how long the update procees should take. The dog chewed the remote for our unit. DO NOT try and play a blu ray without the remote......

*** Great HTS ***

I did a ton of research on Home Theater Systems, and finally decided to spend the extra $$ and get this model. I already had an LG BlueRay player with wireless connectivity (Excellent I might add). I recieved this HTS yesterday afternoon and set it up ASAP. :) It took me about 2 hours to get it all straight. Mind you... I have never done this before. Hook-up was very simple and color coded. The sound is great, and THX is awesome. I am not an audio buff, and in that respect, pretty easy to please...

CAUTION - FIRE HAZARD

I've had this unit about 2 months. I turned it on this morning and smoke billowed from the back vents. If I hadn't been standing directly in front of it, there's no telling what kind of damage the fire would have done. My advice is to never leave this unit plugged in and unattended. I'm shipping the charred unit back to Samsung for replacement.

Nice HTiB

After a lot of research, I purchased this home theater because of the following reasons: I wanted to match it with my Samsung TV, has blu-ray player, has Netflix and Blockbuster plus other apps, has internal WiFi, and is a DLNA compliant. Sound quality is okay. I mounted the satellite speakers on the wall using the keyholes, so no problem there. iPod dock works fine with my iPhone. I have played a couple of blu-ray movies on it and load time and play quality are good, DVDs and streamed movies al...

Compact with solid feature set

I bought the Samsung HT-C6500 to replace a component surround system with floor speakers which was moved to the Game Room. Overall I'm very satisfied with the purchase. The compact unit provides excellent sound quality and the abundant "goodies" are nice as well. The wireless internet functionality took a little troubleshooting to setup as the form of encryption I was originally using was causing problems for the Samsung unit, but once the network issues had been sorted, the ability to take a...

Most frustrating Tech junk I've ever bought

It took 2 days to hook it up. Then it would take off form HDMI 1 to D In just cause it wanted to. THen the volumne would zip up to MAX or Min. Support was useless. I sent in the first unit 3 times. They finally decided to send me a refurbished unit (lucky me). The second one does the same thing. The box is pretty. The unit is a nightmare. You shouldn't need to be a research scientist to install the a Home theatre system. Its a headache. My husband is NOT technoligically able, and he can'...
