Decent Features, simply poor performance

The only thing it has going for it is the nice feature set, including WIFI(works well) and Ipod dock. The speaker wire is so thin that the inputs can barely snag the wire to hold it onto the speaker. I've never seen speaker wire this thin. Also, the length is too short, and it has proprietary connections so you HAVE to use their speaker wire to connect back to the system. You have to splice into the provided wire to add to the length. You place the Ipod into the dock and lose any ability to do a...

Excellent overall, BUT

I have the latest firmware and looked over the available documentation on Samsung website (Jan 12). The "PC sharing" manual gives an non-existent link for Vista help... The PC sharing does not work with W7, I hope Samsung will either give a reliable weblink for help or a firmware upgrade. The auto preset of radio stations does not work either, or the manual has errors. But the rest is so great, that I'd still recommend it to a friend (with XP, not W7...). If these 2 issues will be solved by a fi...

Overall Samsung got it right

I just got this set two weeks ago. The setup is quite straight forward and all the components work well with each other. Connecting to internet was easy both over wireless and LAN. Wireless speakers work quite well. Streams pandora and Netflix almost flawlessly. Picture quality is excellent. The sound quality is very very good, considering none of the speakers are that big. The features are nice and convenient. You almost have all the options, except HD radio. I thought a device this expensive s...

Not bad, but could be better

The setup is only complex due to the non user-friendly menu. You can't access it from any where. It lacks simple features like being able to view your clock on the front display. You never know what is being processed through the system at any time (5.1 Dolby Digital, 2.0 Stereo, etc.). It sounds better to any HTIB I've ever heard. The auto sound calibration device works very well and uses a microphone to find the distance of each speaker from your sitting spot and automatically set the vol...

Best money, still reaping the rewards!!!

I want to start by saying this is the first blu ray player that i've purchased so was skeptical about buying it with surround system. I gotta say it is impressive. i've gotten rid of a LOT of wires because of this system and am still have more adjustments to make. the fact that you can connect it 2 hdmi components to this system makes it even more worth it. I love it! I've seen negative reviews for this item but have to say that they are because the users do not know how to trouble shoot simple ...

Good choice!

Really nice HT system and works fine with my samsung LCD tv. Although I must say that using and configuring all the options is some work. It's a shame that the necessary cables are not in the box (HDMI and optical cable). Now you have to buy them separate. The sound is great and also what I like is the use of internet radio and other things like Youtube and netflix. So easy! Just insert the dongle and connect to your router and it's done. Also the wireless speakers are working fine and my living...

Good overall, but one main negative

This system is good overall, but it has an audio drop out problem that samsung doesn't seem to acknowledge. When using hdmi cables from directv dvr, and I have tried many, the audio drops out for 2 to 3 seconds intermittently. Some programs every 5 to 10 minutes, others may go for an hour without dropouts. See cnet forums for many users who are having the same issue. Hopefully Samsung will fix this with a firmware update soon. The system has been great other than this issue.
