Not quite what I expected
 
The SSD so far is great, however I did expect to get the install kit with 2.5-3.5 adapter and sata and power cables. That is why I bought an 830 instead of an 840 series. That may be my fault but I would like the sellers to be clear.

Great SSD
 
I was going to go for the new 840 series but the 830's had great reviews and now I can see why.

I use this as a boot drive on my Mac Pro. System launches faster and programs, like Photoshop, open very quickly.

A great SSD
 
After doing extensive research, I settled on the Samsung 830. It cost about $80-$90 more than the cheapest 512GB SSDs on the market but all of the cheaper models had very mixed reviews with quite a few reports of drives that died quickly.The Samsung 830 had perfect or near perfect reviews on Amazon and several other retail sites like Newegg.My data, time and sanity is worth a lot more than $90 extra so I went with quality over price and so far, I've been completely satisfied. wow this SSD is awesome this is my first SSD and my first pc buildIts getting write speeds of 534 MB/s and 328 mb/s read which is over the factory standards which is awesome IOPS are lower than factory standards but that's fine this is an awesome SSD.
