DPM9600 is not just a Digital Audio Recorder; it's a complete service, including back-office secretarial support.
 
Even though I have not hardly begun to use this new tool, I give it five stars. First I want to point out the ability to insert additional text at any point is more valuable than hiring a secretary to go back and put it in. Even though I had some difficulties setting up the software to work with my Dragon Naturally Speaking, I believe I've got it whipped.I absolutely love the switch to turn it on and off. Very poorly designed
 
I have used a digital voice recorder every day for years and as such I'm very familiar with the manner in which Dictaphones are used. Unfortunately the designer of this device was not. There are buttons on the front of the device precisely in the place where one's fingers normally wrap around the middle to hold a recorder. Absolutely no product support from Phillips--- we spent over $1 ...
 
Absolutely no product support from Phillips--- we spent over $1,000 for equipment for our small law office a little over a year ago, and it has given us nothing but trouble----recently just quit working------Phillips website for customer service is literally inaccessible.I'd advise purchasing another brand.Ken BurgerBurger, Scott & McFarlinMurfreesboro, Tennessee 37130615-893-8933

Best digital recorder I have ever used
 
In the medical field, we use dictation constantly. I have used several different models of hand held digital recorders and this is by far the best. The biggest advantage of this unit over all the others is the ability to auto correct as you go. If you say something and you don't like the way it came out or you think of a more succinct way of expressing something, you just back it up to where you were last happy with your dictation and start from that point again. Other recorders have a pause but...
