I have owned many binoculars before. Nothing matches this pair. Very bright, water proof, very close focusing, great optical coatings, nice rubber coatings, and EXCELLENT long eye-relief for those of us with glasses. Nice idea haveing the rear lens cups attached. As a naturalist I find the birds I see just seem to pop out. And the binoculars look great too. I purchased these at this site although the actual dealer was Adorama. Adorama's price was almost $200 less than anywhere elses's and t...

These binoculars are very clear and "bright." It is amzing how well they work in low light. We used them on a trip with our son who has $1200 Leica binoculars and they were very nearly interchangeable.

I finally purchased a quality pair of binoculars after decades of using lower priced models. I did lot of research and chose the Pentax 10x43. The image is truly superb. Much better than I expected. Lightweight, rugged, fast focus, and a pleasure to use. I really like the diopter adjuster with lock mechanism; the nonlockable version was always rotating out of adjustment. The extra-short minimum focusing distance is a must bird watching. Highly recommend these.

Terrific binoculars. Great for bird watching. These were a replacement for a prior pair we lost.

Excellent quality

The Pentax DCF SP are very high quality roof prism binoculars with magnesium housings coated with rubber armour. The phase coatings used on the roof prisms eliminate interference and the fully multi-coated lenses reduce reflections even with very high glare viewing. Edge to edge image sharpness allows for use in astronomy, although anything above the 12X model should probably be used with a tripod. The 8X and 10X can be hand-held even for astronomy. Very high quality optics in an affordable pa...

Great Binos

Simply really great binos. My eyes are feeling their age and I needed very sharp optics. [...]I have a pair of PCF WP's that I love but I wanted to get a "better" pair. The new SP's have better edge to edge pin point sharpness and, for me, that's less eye strain. I am extremely happy. Also, packing from BH was excellent.

I have used Pentax lenses for photography for many years. Pentax optics are legendary. My most recent purchases include the so-called "Limited" and "Star DA" lenses by Pentax. They perform very well in my photographic endeavors - delivering stunning images with excellent sharpness, contrast, color, detail and "bokeh".Looking for a pair of binoculars for bird watching, wildlife and general scenery, and based on the positive reviews of this pair of 10x43 DCF SP found on different web sites, I can o...

I spent 6 months comparing birding-applicable binoculars and bought this one two years ago. I live in an important migratory bird path from South American to Canada and find these extremely durable, light, and quick. These are definitely a "best buy" for serious birders.

Excellent quality and excellent value. They are comfortable with or without glasses. Easy to adjust back and forth if you are sharing between people with and without glasses. With previous binoculars I was always having to reset the focus on one lens. These have a locking feature that allows the settings to stay fixed. They are also very good in low light conditions. The only bad thing is the factory supplied strap. It is a little cheap and too long.

Among the best

I used these new binocs on a recent cruise around southern South America and they were great for identifying sealife at a distance. The best thing is the optics. I don't know how anyone could want any better. There is no eyestrain no matter how long you use them. The worst thing is the strap that comes with them, it is much too narrow for glasses this heavy. I had to buy a wide Nikon strap from you to use with the 10X50s and now I'm advertising Nikon instead of Pentax.
