Onkyo TX-SR707 vs TX-SR507 which I replaced.

I originally purchased the Onkyo TX-SR507 and was unhappy with it.. I thought it would be the right model because I only wanted 5.1 support and that model also had the universal port for the Onkyo iPod dock.I decided on the Definitive Technology Mythos and a Definitive Technology Supercube 1 as my speakers and sub and I found the 507 to be somewhat underpowered plus the 507 did not support on screen display which at the time i didn't think was that bid a deal.Well this 7...

WOW!!! Great Sound

I used my old Onkyo HTS780 7.1 speakers& woofer. After using it's automatic speaker setup, the sound in THX mode was far superior than the old Onkyo. Even watching "UP" DVD, a couple of nights earlier, the picture looked even better!I don't think it was my imagination. Only complaint: so many items to choose from to set up!Remote handled all my components: TV, DVD, CD, Dish satellite box. The buttons, which at least light up, are small. Receiver can handle 11 speakers, and 2 woofers!!!B& H had t...

Good Value

I have a high end system for my home theater, I used this one for my living room and outdoor speakers. Using JBL 4-way, JBL 2-way, and Bose outdoor speakers.Multi-room with 2 different audio sources is great, but you can't bi-amp if you use Zone 2. Bummer, it's a choice of sound quality or using it to power my outdoor deck speakers.Sound was clear, but I was a little disapointed in the eq of various listening modes and output but I think that was because I couldn't bi-amp my 4 way speakers and...

Simple , Elegant, Powerful Pure

I use this as my central receiver for my home theatre and stereo system. It delivers pure powerful clear sound with minimal distortion even at high volumes. A little onerous to set up, but once done properly is good for all times.

Onkyo TX-SR707 is a great value!

I use the TX-SR707 for my 46" LED TV, it brings out the best sound quality. The receiver has plenty power and response pushing a 5.1 system w/ Def Tech speakers, the clarity and sounds you hear is breathtaking. It also does a fabulous job up scaling; the video processor chip makes a tremendous difference when watching older DVD's. It is also nice how it switches sound modes automatically to hear the best clarity available. The onscreen menu is great and sound is amazing. There is nothing that I ...

Fantstic receiver

Big bank for the buck, as the saying goes. Plenty of power to drive your surround system. With the latest audio decoding protocols as well as the Audessey room correction, a tough receiver to beat at that price point.

Best 7.2 Channel Reciever for the Money!

I use this product as my hub for my entertainment system, XBOX 360, Blu Ray Player, wii, ipod, HD Cable DVR, and I plan to expand to a PS3 and a Computer here soon. It has the ease and HDMI Slots to handle them all!Sound packs a punch and yet is still crystal clear. I have come to expect great things from Onkyo having been my last 3 receivers and they last forever. I sold my home with an Onkyo receiver as part of a built in home theater so I needed to get a new receiver for my new home. I we...

This receiver is AWESOME!

My previous receiver was the Onkyo 603X, which was nice, but didn't support HDMI. I use a Sony HS51 projector, and found myself constantly having to manually switch the HDMI cable between my Dish receiver and DVD player. Now all of the component cables are gone, and everything is plug and play via HDMI. The sound and picture quality are fantastic, and I love the variety of audio options available for movies, music and gaming.

This receiver was incredibly hard to get from other vendors. They were all sold out everywhere. I stumbled across this site ordered the receiver and had it in a few days. It has tremendous power sooooooo many settings. If I could change anything about this receiver I would make it smaller but then again every other receiver in the world is large.

Great Receiver

Upgraded from the TX-SR706, the addition of the Wide and High channels fully changes the listening experience. Ability to add a 2nd Subwoofer a plus for bass, shake, and rattle lovers. Sound file options are plentiful to find the right mix for the desired source.
