Onkyo TX-NR808

Price to feature set ratio is outstanding, for the money it can't be beat by any brand. Excellent build quality, very heavy at 41Ibs, looks very high end! Very easy to set up, firmware update went smoothly, just follow instructions. Audyssey MultEQ was flawless. 7 HDMI ports +1 front. It has all the latest surround modes. Internet radio and home networking work great, I can stream all my music from my PC, very nice! OSD is an excellent feature. I have an all De...

Tx-NR808

It is a replacement Sony receiver which saw its demise after only 4 years I am glad it died I needed a reason to upgrade to a receiver which would workout my Infinity Rs525 spkrs. Almos 15years old but still love them. Getting back to the receiver, Love all the HDMI inputs currently only using about 3 out of the 6 in the back. Menu is super easy to navigate. I had to reset it a couple of times because I lost my network connection to the I Radio. Oh yeah love that. Some many cho...

Best Bang for the Buck

I think its the best receiver for the price in its class. Nothing comes close in comparison and has great processing. Excellent audio / video output.

An affordable and excellent AVR

(From a previous review submission that I had posted elsewhere:)Bottom line: the sound is exquisite. Mind you, my 808 is pushing some excellent Monitor Audio RS6s (5.1 setup), and they speak to one another spectacularly. Tight highs and sweet lows. Onkyo has created an AVR that is sensitive and capable of detecting subtle nuances. Here are three examples: Dark Knight (Blue-Ray): crisp sound and noticable improvement visually. The very slight pixelation of my five year old Panny plasma was made i...

Excellent receiver from Onkyo

This is my third Onkyo receiver, the one I replace was the 805. It was good but had only three hdmi input, can not upconvert. i decided to get that 808 since the price was good and the features are amazing. Man it's good all the features work like describe. To be honest it's little complex compare to the 805. but i came over quickly by reading the manual. sound good picture meet expectation. One mistake i made, I left in place my seven spears and the sub and run the auto calibrat...

Awesome!

This thing is awesome! Upgraded from a Onky TX-SR703 after 5 years of HEAVY use. The power source went out. Again it was always on: video games, movies, internet radio, iPod, Direct tv, and playing the news in the kitchen in the mornings. It also survived two cross-country moves. I was debating just having the old one repaired when I saw the great deal on this from Crutchfield. I wasn't sure that it would really be an upgrade, more of a replacement I thought. Boy was I wrong!...

Best Receiver I Have Ever Owned!

I read reviews from some people who had problems with this receiver so I felt safer buying from Crutchfield to get the great customer support. I have had no problems at all and setup was smooth and easy. I had to modify my TV stand to fit this monster. The on-screen menu system is easy to use. I plugged in my network and ran the the firmware update without any problems. I plugged in the Audyssey mic and the menu popped up to set the speakers - nice! The rem...

Great home theater receiver

This unit replaced a relatively new Sony 910 series 7.1 receiver. Granted the Onkyo is more expensive than the Sony, it wasn't that much more money and outperforms the Sony hands down in every aspect. More power, Internet radio ( I use Pandora), the on screen display are just a few of the advanced features I really like. This unit provides more clean power and really brings my Polk Audio RTi12 speakers alive. It also seamlessly integrated itself with my home network and ...

A/V Receiver HDMi Output would not send video to Samsung TV

The Onkyo TX-NR808 that I purchased would not send a video signal through the HDMI output that could/would be recognized by my Samsung TV. I completed the firmware update and again it did not work so I contacted Onkyo technical support and they worked with me for over an hour only to tell me to send the unit back since it must be defective. The Onkyo technical support was very responsive and helpfully but they could not figure out why I could not get video signal to my TV. I ordered a replace...

Onkyo TX-NR808

This is by far the best receiver I have ever had. Plenty of power, unbelievable clarity, functions galore. I couldn't ask for anything better. And to top it all off was Crutchfield's impecable customer service. I ordered my receiver on a Monday and by Thursday of the same week it had arrived in perfect working order. I guarantee my next receiver will also come from Crutchfield, great products at great prices, you can't go wrong.
