More than I needed and has some quirks....but....

This review is from: Onkyo TX-NR1007 135 Watts 9.2-Channel AV Surround Home Network Receiver (Black) (Electronics) I've been an Onkyo fan for years now. This is my 5th Onkyo receiver in about 9 years or so. I've upgraded for feature set rather than anything being 'wrong' with the prior models I've had. This is the highest end model I've purchases thus far. Hopefully I'll be able to keep this one around for quite a while. It's more than I needed but I was tired of upgrading ...

I am very pleased with this receiver. The manual is well written and easy to understand. The on screen display is also very easy to use and well organized. I bought a Harmony 1 remote with the receiver but so far I've found the I haven't needed it - the included remote lets me control everything in my system - I do have to turn some things on and off individually from the remote but I'm sure I can write a macro to fix that. Setting up the internet radio was also easy although I wasn't abl...

Not a fan

This review is from: Onkyo TX-NR1007 135 Watts 9.2-Channel AV Surround Home Network Receiver (Black) (Electronics) Perhaps I got a bad unit, but my experience was not good and I ended up sending it back. Setup was fine and it sounded great, but the unit ran extremely hot--the top become almost blistering after just an hour or two of operation, in spite of it sitting by itself on a hardwood floor with nothing on or around it. Overheating in itself isn't a problem, but it would ca...

Fantastic item!

I purchased this item as an upgrade from a Bose Lifestyle 28 III. I paired it with 6 Definitive Technology (including subwoofer) and 4 Bose Jewel cube speakers to create a 9.1 channel home theater. Set up was very easy and straight forward. I strongly suggest reading the owners manual before installation. This will let you plan you speaker configuration and speed installation down the road. I also added the Sirius Connect. I highly recommend this add-on. Sound is strong, rich and...

Just not sure yet-

This review is from: Onkyo TX-NR1007 135 Watts 9.2-Channel AV Surround Home Network Receiver (Black) (Electronics) Only had it for a month. It sounds just great! I can't believe the improvement in my system and I had a good amp before. I think it must be the computerized equalization that does it. However, it is very much like a computer in that it just stopped working and after goofing with it for a couple of hours I unplugged it and restarted and everything worked fine. R...

One Of the Few Receivers with THX Ultra

I've been enjoy Hi-Fi products for 10years, and this receiver is great for Home Theater, the difference betwen the others receiver, NR-3007/NR-5007, is not to much, just a few more features, but, the main reason why is a good product,is because is a Onkyo, all of them with THX Ultra 2 Plus, this is something you cant' forget!...Is one of the most Upgrade receivers, but I still miss the USB conection, and the A/B Speakers opcions.

Everything Working as Designed

This review is from: Onkyo TX-NR1007 135 Watts 9.2-Channel AV Surround Home Network Receiver (Black) (Electronics) The reciever is working as described. I've been very pleased with it's performance. A little tricky to set-up, but once you've spent some time in the menus to know where settings are making modifications to the system is not difficult. I've been very pleased with the performance.

Best Bang for the buck

This review is from: Onkyo TX-NR1007 135 Watts 9.2-Channel AV Surround Home Network Receiver (Black) (Electronics) I have always been an Onkyo owner and this is the best receiver from them to date. It has so many features I have not used them all as to date. The sound is amazing no matter what speakers you hook up to them, either bookshelves or a full HT system up to the full 9.2 channels. I currently have a 7.2 system with heights. My current room does not have the room for wid...

This AVR does it all

This review is from: Onkyo TX-NR1007 135 Watts 9.2-Channel AV Surround Home Network Receiver (Black) (Electronics) This is capable of so many things that you will forever be trying to tweak what is already awesome. Infinitely adjustable and so many features its mind boggling. Definitely it's strong suit is Home Theater, it could use a little more power for music in stereo. The all channel stereo will fill the room with amazing sound. I love this product.
