When I spotted this as an accessory to the Bushnell Binoculars I bought the picture is misleading so you think that the mount and the tripod come together as a package. That is not the case. Now I have to order a tripod. They could have done a better job at letting you know that for $50 you only get the mount and not the tripod (which by the way goes for $15-$23 - thats what led me to believe the mount and the tripod came together). Bad job Amazon.

good for binos without mount provisions

I mount my binoculars on my tripod for extended glassing sessions while searching for big game in desert and alpine terrain. I bought this for use with Leica Geovid binoculars, which do not have a threaded provision for mounting. It works satisfactorily, but is not as good as binos with a "normal" threaded mounting provision and adapter.

Designed For Full Sized Binoculars

Got this for a Nikon Monarch 7 10x42 binocular. Older hands not as steady as 20 years ago and needed something to provide a bit more stability on my mono pod. Well, this wasn't really designed for compact or smaller binoculars. There is a hard platform that is 6 inches across that serves as the base. The Monarch 7 10x42 is a bit over 5 inches wide when it is flat. Adjusting for the eyes it is even less, maybe 4.5 inches in my case. This makes for some wiggle room even with the Velcro strips pull...

One size fits some

Steiner makes nice individual focus porro prism binoculars with the awful design deficiency of lacking a tripod adapter socket. This device solves that for some models. It will fit the Steiner 8X30 Military Marine porro prism binoculars, and probably something a little bigger. It works well for what it fits. It is not big enough for the 10X50 Police or porro prism models of similar size. The models that it does not fit are among those for which tripod use would be especially desirable.

Works for Zeiss 10x56 Night Owl

Worked well. Holds firmly, no chance of falling out. Plenty of extra room for even larger binoculars.

Very effective for the money

I wanted to get some good wildlife pictures in Yellowstone NP in September 2015. I bought a pair of Nikon Monarch 7 8X42 Binoculars, the Carson iPhone 6 Plus Hookupz and the Nikon BINOCUMOUNT to hold the binoculars steady on my tripod. Your iPhone can then zoom on the binocular image which makes it virtually distortion free. You'll have to fidget with it a little to get it fixed on the subject and also be sure your tripod is steady in windy conditions. For the money, I was very pleased with the...
