Excellent binocular

Though now eclipsed by the EDG series, the Premier is one nice binocular. It's extremely good optically, has excellent ergonomics, and a superb focusing mechanism. This optic gives me everything I need in the field. This has been my primary birding binocular for nearly ten years and I still love it.

Quality through and through

I use this product hours each day to perform surveillance. I am able to lift the binoculars to my glasses and focus on the subject very quickly. The focus knob is sensitive, and only takes the slightest movement to adjust. I had to get used to this, and now am pleased with the minimal effort necessary to bring an object into focus. The eye relief is terrific. I see the entire field of view with no obstruction, even with eye glasses. The only negative I can say is the 8x power requires a very s...

Price way out of proportion to difference in opitical improvement.

The premier is about 5 time more expensive then the Nikon MonarchBut the optical improvement is very slight.I was greatly surprised..

It's unfortunate to see such a great product burdened with a poor rating

It's unfortunate to see such a great product burdened with a poor rating. I've been using these extensively since 2008 (and also the older heavier, but optically identical version from 2000-2008) and have found them simply superb. Optical quality is excellent. This is a very well made optic and it has great ergonomics. This binocular feels perfect in the hands. Then too, Nikon's focus mechanism is second to none... smooth and even, it's a pleasure to use. I've owned other high end brands over th...

Excellent Bins!

I've been using mine for 10 years now, and I love them! Every Fall for more then two decades I volunteer at a Hawk Watch and spend hundreds of hours counting migrating raptors.

An Old Favorite

Sharp and bright views with silky smooth focusing and a robust housing make this binocular one of my favorites despite having Swarovski, Leica and Zeiss in my current inventory.

Excellent Quality Glass up to the highest standards

Top notch quality and good deal if you get it at a discounted price. Now that this is a discontinued model, you may be able to find the binoculars at a good price. May not be the latest state of the art coating systems but mechanically, these are built to the highest standards. I look forward to using these and passing them off to the next generation when the time comes.
