Reference performance and feel, for a mid level price!

After doing much research and dreaming about reference class bino's, I settled on this model and am happy I did. I've tried many pairs of binoculars and have owned about 7 myself and these are by far the best yet.First off, the construction is first rate and well protected from damage with the fully ruber covered armor, and the focus knob is super smooth. The focus is extremely fast and the fastest I've ever used, with only a little turn of like a 1/4 inch making a huge difference in focus. This...

Shockingly good.

I have HG version. They are excellent: I thought I could improve by getting Zeiss SF 10x42, HD 10x42, T*FL 10x42. Tried them. No, HG 8x32 have simply a much better picture, 3D, real and alive. The others were sort of ''still nature'' ... and more expensive. Grab these if you can. I only could settle on 10x with nikon EDG which are even better.

I have two other larger Nikons (8x42) and wanted something lighter. Also wanted to try 10x but was worried about shaking. These are great. The 10x is much better for birding and the shaking is minimal with the extra 2x. Minor complaint is that they do not come with objective lens covers (Nikon confirmed this) and the eyepiece covers are very loose, but this sems to be a common complaint with all Nikons. However the quality and image clarity for the price more than makes up for it.

The focus adjustment takes a little time getting accustomed to as it's location is in the front. That being said, the quality of the glass is excellent. The construction is solid and feels good in the hand. After reading all the rave reviews and meeting my requirement for being waterproof I made my purchase and was not disappointed. If there is one flaw it is the poorly designed lens covers. The covers are for the objective lenses only and fit like socks on a rooster. Very loose fit and surely t...

Bought these for my wife to replace some lower line Nikons. We use our glasses every weekend for wildlife & bird watching. She likes them very much. Pros: Very high quality glass for the price. Exceptional clarity. On par with my Swarovski SLC's. Brighter than my Swarovskis. Cons: Detents in the diopter adj knob would be nice. More friction in the width adjustment would also be good. The lens is too close to the end of the tube on the objective end & frequently gets bumped & smudged.

bought this binocular to replace may 30 years old ziess 10X42 on long day treks where size and waight are important. I was surprised to see that this can replace the ziess all the time: Its sharper, has a very good angel, good clearness in poor light, and very comfortable in hand even on long observations. I find the place of the focus knob more comfi than other small binoculars. I bought this binoculars after reading a review in a birdwatchers newspaper where the nikon beated the more expensive...

While Leica, Zeiss and Swarovski also make HIGH QUALITY folding roof prism pocket binoculars, the Nikon LX offer the best VALUE, at 28 to 47% less than the European makes, at least at Adorama pricing. The LX 8 x 20 are extremely well-made, are totally water-proof, have eye relief adequate for my high negative diopter glasses, and feature a generous field of view, important for my primary usage of birding. The LX 8 x 20 focus adequately, much better than lesser-priced models, which typically hav...

Great binocular for the money. I am not sure the Zeiss or Lecia would be worth the additional money. The lens quality is excellent. Focus knob took a little getting used to however, I quickly got over it. Had a pair of nikon binoculars for 20years and this is my third pair. The quality is excellent.
