Astonishing image quality and brightness!

It is rare to find a pair of binoculars with the brightness, sharpness and clarity of the Nikon Superior E! This piece of equipment is truly amazing! It provides such a crisp, true-to-life image without color distortions or image degradation on the edge of the view. For its price, the image these produce is unparalleled. Throw in the wide field of view (the size of the "window" you look through) and a large depth of field (the amount of distance that can be focused on at one time) and you ha...

8x32 Superior

After searching and comparing binoculars for months I selected these Superior 8x32's from Adorama. They are Absolutely Outstanding and a steal for the price. When looking in shade and bushes where colors tend be dull and muted, the detail and separation shown still continues to surprise me and have made my other binoculars obsolete. They are really that good.

The SE is Waterproof!

I thought it would be useful for the reader if I wrote this note as an addendum to the two previous reviews. The two previous reviews are for the Nikon Superior E binocular which is an exceptional glass but is not waterproof as stated. The Nikon Premier SE is the replacement model for the Superior E and is almost identical in every respect except that it is now nitrogen filled and is waterproof. I hope this clarification helps.

Exceptional, but not waterproof

This is truly a marvelous binocular, and unquesitonably one of my favorites. The size is perfect, it's lightweight and very comfortable to hold. And the images are breathtaking in their clarity and detail. In terms of image quality I prefer this binocular over much more expensive models by Zeiss, Leica, and Swarovski. Yes, it's that good. The 8x32 designation means that this binocular magnifies the image by 8 times and the objective lens (this is the lens pointed towards what you are looking ...

As good as 8x gets....

Though not waterproof and having nuisance rolldown eyecups, there is still no better view, regardless of price. Very rugged, nice to handle, bright, sharp.....this bino has generated more raves on various blogs and review sites than any other glass I know of. There's a reason....

BETTER than my LEICA 8x32HD

This binocular has an amazing image quality. I have to say second to NONE.I have compared it to my Leica 8x32HD and the results really surprised me.The Nikon is a tad brighter and shows a sharper field of view to the extreme edges. If you need a binocular with all the bells and whistles (Waterproof/fogproof etc ) get the Leica, if you need sheer optical BRILLIANCE there is none better than the Nikon 8x32 SE CF, the ultimate 3D razor sharp view available today.Truly the BENCHMARK standard of 8x bi...

Not Waterproof - Confirmed Through Nikon USA

The Nikon Premier SE 8x32 binoculars are NOT!!! waterproof. This was confirmed through Nikon USA customer support. Nevertheless, it is a top of the line optics binocular.

Favorite Dry Weather Birder

This is my favorite birding binocular, period. That being said, I do not take it out on rainy days. I do have waterproof binoculars for inclement weather, including a 7x42 Leica Trinovid, but nothing gives me more pleasurable viewing than the Nikon. Another reviewer disparaged the included neck strap; I replaced it with an OP/TECH camera strap. If I am not sharing the binocular with a companion, I attach the instrument to a chest harness so my neck does not bear the weight. My only real com...

very good binoculars

These are excellent binoculars, best resolution and color imaginable. You really have to get the diopter just right though to ensure comfortable viewing, if it's just a bit off it'll cause some eye strain. It really should come with a high quality neckstrap, it's a pity to spend this much on binoculars only to have to spend a bit more for a suitable strap.

Excellent Binoculars

First off, these are not waterproof, and should have a star taken away just for that. I didn't, though, because it is not like they are trying to hide that from you.I use them for birding and just keeping an eye on things as long as the weather is decent. Really, as long as you don't dunk them in a pond they'll do just fine in a shower. At 1/3 the price of an Alpha (Swarovski, Leica, Zeiss) roof prism, you can get a view as good if not better. You cannot beat the 3D look of a good porro prism ...
