Great product! Great thing about this is you don't need a base station but you get the same storage as the 500.00 4 cam setup. No bat replacement. Long power cord. Higher res than bat powered version (true 1080). Has the best type of mount that is usually optional and if you want to you can add the 4 cam system later for a max of 5. Like most others you get about half of advertising night vision capabilities but you can get a 3rd party night vision diode cluster to place next to the cam that wil...

Exactly what I wanted

I have been reading reviews for months before I picked out this camera. I wanted a nest cam since I have a nest thermostat and smoke alarms however while I liked everything else about the nest cam, I did not want to pay $10 a month for recordings, and without paying that $10 a month there was no way to record anything that happened, even if I was watching it as it happened on the app. All I wanted was a camera that could capture video when motion was detected while we are away on vacations or mo...

The best camera EVER!!!!!!!

With all the media about the elderly being mistreated, I was not about to have my parents in danger. I have had a couple of different camera's to ensure their treatment, all of which were terrible and would have a SD card to remove and take home to place in PC to view, although better than nothing, not good and pic. and sound terrible. I ordered this before it came out to sell and was excited to try it. It is amazing!!!!!!! I have been able to prevent them from a near disaster, falling, by calli...

Will Not Work During "Peak Hours"

I bought the Arlo Q camera with high expectations based on features and free 7 day video cloud storage. I spent 15 minutes setting it up and all seemed fine. However, when I subsequently tried to view the camera live and set up an activity zone I could not access the camera. After many attempts I simply gave up and called Netgear Arlo support, who told me the problem was on their end. They said they did not have the bandwith to handle the feeds from everyone's cameras, and that I could expect th...

This is THE "smart camera" to purchase

I’ve had quite a few different IP/Security Cameras from various vendors like D-Link, Foscam, Insteon, etc. going back to my first IP based wifi camera that was an 802.11b DCS1000W from D-Link. The early cameras were for geeks only (like me) and required knowledge of networking protocols like port forwarding and more to get the most out of these first and second generation cameras. IP Cameras are now an integral part of Home Security and the field of DIY Security Camera players has grown conside...

Customer Service

Legitimately the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. I couldn't get my Arlo Q to establish a connection even though on my router setting it was saying the Arlo Q was connected. I probably spent an hour on the phone with a level 1 "expert", who would just keep repeating all the steps over and over and over. She was literally just reading the "New System Setup" guide which we went through together probably 10 times with the same issues every time. She told me I needed to speak to a leve...

Bad setup

I bought the Arlo Q thinking I would add it to the Arlo base station that I already own (gave it 5 stars). Turns out the Arlo Q needs a separate setup. The setup is bad. It connects directly to your router, and you have to put your Wi-Fi password on the Arlo web site. (That's not the case with the base, which is wired to the router). I do not care about Arlo's assurances, I will not put my WiFi password on anybody's web site.
