She is sweet

Great product! Great thing about this is you don't need a base station but you get the same storage as the 500.00 4 cam setup. No bat replacement. Long power cord. Higher res than bat powered version (true 1080). Has the best type of mount that is usually optional and if you want to you can add the 4 cam system later for a max of 5. Like most others you get about half of advertising night vision capabilities but you can get a 3rd party night vision diode cluster to place next to the cam that wil...

Exactly what I wanted

I have been reading reviews for months before I picked out this camera. I wanted a nest cam since I have a nest thermostat and smoke alarms however while I liked everything else about the nest cam, I did not want to pay $10 a month for recordings, and without paying that $10 a month there was no way to record anything that happened, even if I was watching it as it happened on the app. All I wanted was a camera that could capture video when motion was detected while we are away on vacations or mo...

The best camera EVER!!!!!!!

With all the media about the elderly being mistreated, I was not about to have my parents in danger. I have had a couple of different camera's to ensure their treatment, all of which were terrible and would have a SD card to remove and take home to place in PC to view, although better than nothing, not good and pic. and sound terrible. I ordered this before it came out to sell and was excited to try it. It is amazing!!!!!!! I have been able to prevent them from a near disaster, falling, by calli...

This is THE "smart camera" to purchase

I’ve had quite a few different IP/Security Cameras from various vendors like D-Link, Foscam, Insteon, etc. going back to my first IP based wifi camera that was an 802.11b DCS1000W from D-Link. The early cameras were for geeks only (like me) and required knowledge of networking protocols like port forwarding and more to get the most out of these first and second generation cameras. IP Cameras are now an integral part of Home Security and the field of DIY Security Camera players has grown conside...

Bad setup

I bought the Arlo Q thinking I would add it to the Arlo base station that I already own (gave it 5 stars). Turns out the Arlo Q needs a separate setup. The setup is bad. It connects directly to your router, and you have to put your Wi-Fi password on the Arlo web site. (That's not the case with the base, which is wired to the router). I do not care about Arlo's assurances, I will not put my WiFi password on anybody's web site.

Great camera

Have had the camera for a few weeks now. I chose the camera because it has most of the specs of NEST but it comes with free cloud storage. Each 15 sec clip record at 720p takes up a little less than 1mb so it has the potential to record quite a lot with 1gb every 7 days. There is also the option to record manual clips and take still images that you can save to your mobile device from the cloud/ mobile app. The motion also works quite well too and I seem to get an alert with in about 10 seconds o...

Terribly Easy to Setup, Great App as well!

I have some experience in setting up a camera network at work and let me tell you, Arlo is the way to go. The package design is quite nice and the green box is very Cupertino. From opening the box to seeing a live image on my phone took maybe five minutes. Once you download the app, you simply hold your phone in front of the camera (with QR code visable) and viola! You're done! A couple of things stood out to me as being excellent with this camera. The base of the camera is magnetic and that w...

Awesome Arlo Q Security Camera from NETGEAR

I’ve received this item free to review and test for NETGEAR’s First Look Review Program. It’s great to be part of this Program and will be giving all honest reviews throughout my participation with this program. ~First Thoughts~ When I received this package in the mail from NETGEAR I thought it would have been in a bigger box but it wasn’t. As I opened the package I enjoyed the way it was packed within its own box and felt like they want the customer to have a great experience with opening it. ...

Stopped working after 40 days

Loved it when I first got it. Went on trip and tried to check the camera at airport, it wouldn't connect. Got me worried whole trip and came back to find the camera hanging on firmware update. Wait 2 days, same slashing lights, contact customer service, they kept having me power cycle/reset the camera. It's been 4 days back and forth with customer service. The problem is still not resolved. It's terrible. Even if it's fixed, I don't know if I could trust this camera.
