Great switch and value

Switch allowed me to connect my Dish DVR, Onkyo Receiver and Sony PS3. All work great and saved me running three cat 5 wires.

Easy to use helpful product !

I hated the process of transferring photos from my camera to my laptop to iTunes and then the whole synching thing and the tedious process of managing all those photos manually in the case that I didnt want to transfer all the pics from sd card to eventually my iPad. It never worked right for me and was just frustrating...so I didnt do it. My pictures would languish on the card for months at a time until I could sweet-talk my husband into doing it but he didnt even want to deal with the manual m...

Simple switch, not alot of overhead

I am using this as the primary network node for a pfSense router/firewall. I just plugged it in and hooked up my cables and it was good to go. It is super compact, can be ran directly off of 12vDC and has a lifetime warranty. Also I do like the fact that each port has LEDs to indicate activity and Gigabit vs. a 10 or 100 Mbps connection. It is easy to tell what network or machine is talking. Another thing is that I have seen these switches operate outside in the heat of day in Iraq with 120 degr...

simple, easy, effective

This ethernet hub works exactly as advertised. Simple: just plug in your cable from your router or modem. Most ethernet cables are Cat 5e and will carry up to 1000 Mbs. Next, just plug in ethernet cables to devices (computers, printers, gaming modules, DVD and Blu-ray players, etc). No problem streaming two or more simultaneous feeds from Netflix. Works great!

Buy online & pick it up at the store; it's cheaper

I personally never buy Netgear, I'm a Linksys kind'of'guy. But the price on this little unit makes it work the risk. Oh and your not going to believe this. When I went to my local store to go buy this off the shelf, it was 10 bux more than what was listed online. So I went back home, made my purchase online, and used the 'Store Pick-Up' option; it saved me $10 and I didn't even have to stand in a check-out line.

Works well with my TV and Netflix player

My Internet and cable TV provider is AT&T. My house is wired with Cat 5 cable, so the connection from the wall outlet to the cable box is a Cat 5 patch cable. I disconnected the Cat 5 patch cable from the cable box and attached it to the input (port #5) of the ethernet switch. Then, using two more Cat 5 patch cords, I connected the cable box and my NetFlix enabled Blu-ray player to outlet ports on the ethernet switch. Thus, I can enjoy cable TV, Netflix or a Blu-ray movie any time I want.

Strange drops & Inconsistent results

Replaced a former 10/100mbit Netgear hub to upgrade to gigabit network. In short, this device is unusable on my home network due to random drops between multiple computers, requiring that I restart the switch to restore connectivity to all machines.\n\nApparently, it is incompatible with a number of network cards brands, a few of which I have in my network (2 RelTek 1gb low-end cards & 1 high-end Intel 1gb onboard on a Dell Precision). I've used it for 2 weeks and identified this device as the c...

This is a piece of JUNK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought this switch and it worked fine for the first two months or so but then started malfunctioning and doing strange things. At least once a week I'd have to either "reset" the switch by unplugging it from the electricity for a moment and then plug it back in.Or I'd have to switch ports because one port would arbitrarily stop functioning and I'd have to plug my computer in to another port.Sometimes the "activity' lights on a port would show the port being active even when nothing was plugged ...
