Line conditioners like this are kind of a sore subject for a lot of people. They say you don't need one, they are over priced, they don't do anything special. Guess what? They are wrong. I know from experience. I got the HTS 1600 on a lightning deal to replace another unit that had taken a direct lightning hit. 4 of the 8 outlets on the old power center were fried and yet the equipment connected to them took no damage at all. You think $100 or so is too much to spend to protect potentially thous...

First I actually own this item and bought it on Amazon.Someone wrote a review here saying that Monster had made a "snake oil" claim that power conditioning can give you better audio and video quality and that there was zero scientific basis for these claims. As a person who spent 20+ years in the video production business I can say with complete confidence this person is absolutely provably WRONG.While Monster does tend to make "snake oil" claims about some of its products the claim power condit...

Have had a Monster Power Center now for over 2 years. Before, using a standard power strip, our receiver (onkyo) and TV (sharp) would lose sync over HDMI when our little beverage refrigerator would cycle on. Now with this unit all that is gone. I can't vouch for cleaner video or sharper audio but I can say without a doubt it does perform some benefit concerning cleaning up AC spikes or dropouts.

For an explanation, do a Google Search for "Ten Biggest Lies In Audio" or visit this link: [ ... ] and scroll to the part where he talks about fancy cables and about power conditioners.Having surge protection is indeed important, and you can find a decent surge protector with multiple outlets for wire management well under a hundred bucks, with power backup...Tripplite makes probably the best ones with a far more reasonable price to performance ratio, as does American Power Conversion (APC) and ...

here is an easy way to test to see if the filter actually works.take a noise detector, plug it in to your 19.99 walmart surge protectorthen do the same on the monster power unit. it will throw you back.people are talking bout how they dont see a picture or sound quality difference.i'll give you another way to test this too.take a CD and put it in your DVD or CD player, turn up the sound and wait for the tracks to change. during the switch from one track to the next there will be silent moment th...

I went back and forth deciding whether the monster power 1600 was worth the money. I researched the pros and cons for over a month and was glad I purchased it to protect my new Samsung lcd flat screen. I definitely noticed a cleaner clearer picture when I ran the cable line through the component. The price on Amazon made it a worthwhile investment.

If you read home theater forums on sites like Polk and AVS, you'll find that there's a debate on whether or not general power conditioners take away from receivers (or amplifiers) power. Simply said, it's been suggested that power conditioners make home theaters sound "flatter," in comparison to plugging the receiver into the regular, grounded wall outlet. When plugging in my receiver in the "receiver" outlet on the HTS 1600 I noticed a considerable difference in the way my front tower speakers s...

I bought this unit just as a piece of mind. I have over $10k in electronic devices connected to this Power Center. So far, I have not noticed an improvement in sound or video, but it sure looks cool!
