Marantz SR7005

I recently got the Marantz SR 7005 receiver. It replaced my Sony STR DE705. The setup was definitely more complex with the updated technology, but the payoff if worth it. I have Polk RTiA9 front speakers - biwired, Yamaha NS-IW480C 3-Way in ceiling rear speakers, and Polk Audio DSW PROT 400 subwoofer. The clarity, depth and range of sound by far exceeded my wildest expectations. The highest highs are crystal clear and resonate a distinct timbre through the air. The base is thunderous and ...

Marantz SR7005

This is without doubt the best AV receiver I have ever had the pleasure of owning. Brilliant design and very easy to use. There are a multitude of sound settings and I am still playing around with them. I hooked up everything with an audioquest HDMI cable and the wife and I can not believe how amazing the sound is. We hear portions of the soundtrack that were never audible to us before. Its just like the cinema. The unit looks clean and sleek and operates very quietly. The inputs at the back are...

Excellent Receiver

This receiver is excellent and all you would ever need right now. It has a big "high end" looking face panel that I like much better than most. The set up is really easy considering how complex a unit this is. The audessy features really take your Tv/Movie watching to a whole new level that I wasn't capable of attaining manually. It's like I have new speakers! You wouldn't believe how much the dynamic volume/EQ feature helps create an amazing hometheater experience at any volume level, and what...

Unbelievably good

This summer I finally decided to upgrade from my Lexicon system and chose the Marantz SR7005 after listening to Home Theater Geeks on the TWiT Network. I replaced my gear with it a few weeks ago, and I am extremely satisfied with this purchase. The unit is so good, I decided to upgrade from 5.1 to 7.1. The Audessy system makes setup very easy (no more sound pressure meter!) and it does a great job. I have never been happy with my subwoofer configuration, despite countless hours of fid...

Great Receiver

Great Receiver. Very easy to setup. Uses less power and is much smaller, in depth, than my previous Marantz SR9200 receiver. Sound quality is excellent. Highly recommended,

Marantz SR7005

This receiver replaced my 3805 Denon AVR and I was simply blown away by the sound quality. The SR7005 is a great match for my NHT T5 Evolution series speakers. Did I mention that Air Play is simply nothing short of awesome. I would have liked to have seen a remote with bigger characters however the free marantz wiz app on my iPad solved that problem.

Marantz SR7005

I bought this to complement my new Panasonic TC-P55VT50 TV. It is a very nice A/V receiver that offers a lot of connections and sufficient power to drive moderate-sized and many full-sized speakers properly. I bought it to replace a lower end Denon that was ok but didn't have some of the newer features available in the more current set of receivers. It can do everything from 2.0 to 7.1 speaker setup; I have a 5.1 setup that Audyssey automatically detected and set up and it sounds great.. You can...

A Return to Form

I'm a fan of vintage Marantz stereo equipment, their 60s/70s amps, receivers, and tuners were always well made, elegant, and had a signature warmth sound to them. This was during their Saul Marantz and Superscope days. But in the 80s and 90s they were owned under the Phillips brand, and their gear was never quite the same since; be it quality, tonality, and certainly esthetics. Now a days the company is under D&M Holdings ("D"enon and "M"arantz), and Marantz is bouncing back to it'...

My First Audio/Video Receiver

Being 42yrs old, technically it isn't my 1st AVR. My first one would be a Technics bookshelf stereo system from back in the college days where I could plug in my speakers with the wires in the back and hookup my VCR to the back and TV to the VCR. This was in the early-mid 1990s.Flash foward to late 2011, and I decided (and now could financially afford) to get a real HTS (Home Theater System). So I got everything through Magnolia Audio Video (not the ones inside the Best Buy stores...

Classic looks with cutting edge features

I was running my Denon 4802 for about 10 years and finally decided to upgrade to an HDMI switching receiver. I thought about another Denon but love the sound of my Marantz receiver I am running in another/smaller room, SR5003, and thought I would give them a close look as well.Long story short, I settle on the SR7005. I did it not only for sound but also technology. I was kind of surprised to see the Marantz being slightly ahead of the Denon's but not that surprised I suppose since...
