Disappointed

I purchased this GPS a bit over a year before it had a complete breakdown. I went to the website and charged it up, according to their instructions, and tried to use it again. After charging, it would work for a 2 minute period, then shut down again. This happened repeatedly. I have found Google Maps on my I phone to be more reliable and will not purchase a Magellan product again. A call to customer service at Magellan was not productive. The offered me a new one for only $20 off the $110 price.

Garmin is better.

I purchased the Magellan Roadmate 3045LM in February of 2011 because my Garmin was in storage in a location I needed a GPS to get to. Sadly enough, the price was "right" for the time and place, but the functionality of the device pales in comparison to a basic Garmin Nuvi.Pros:Large screenLoud speaker for directionsMultiple features such as address book, points of interest, and speed, direction, time or arrival, etc...Cons:Unreliable directions on 2 year old mapsErratic directions and

Magellan 3045LM

Great product for the price. The life time updates make this even a greater deal. Was a used product, but has performed just fine. You have to go to Magellan site to download the correct data manager program and use it to update your maps and software.. all works fine.
