Easy setup fast connection.
Wireless is slow in my room on the 3rd floor of the house so I got this. Setup was very easy. Just plugged in and it worked. Now Internet is really fast via this + ethernet.BEFORE: WIFI:Ping: 54ms D: 0.95 mb/s U:0.47 mb/sAFTER: POWERLINE:PING: 15ms D: 4.4 mb/s U: 0.7 mb/sSo it's over 3x faster.

Excellent performance
My house was prewired with CAT5e throughout however the outlet in the office was across the room from the router and I did not want to string wire to reach it. I had seen these network power line adapters before but was hesitant to buy them as some customers have expressed difficulties going across circuit breakers and electrical subpanels. I talked to Linksys prior to purchase (on account of a router problem I also reviewed on this site, the Linksys EA4500). They told me that they do not gua...

I was connected to the Internet in about two minutes!
I bought this for my home theater so that I could hook up all the internet-enabled components. I used to think that when a product was Ethernet-enabled that meant that you had to run 100 feet of Ethernet cable from your router, through the walls, and to your components. That sounded messy to me so I always looked for WiFi-enabled products. I initially thought about buying a bridge instead but my understanding is that the Powerline adapters were faster since they are a wired connection. I can't...

4x faster then wifi connection, Great product.
I bought this network adapter kit for my Sony Blue-Ray player, which was running/streaming @ 45% of the router signal/wireless. They were very easy to set up.when I first tested the adapters, the signal dropped down to 38%, but then I realized I did not change the wifi/connection setting to a wired connection and wow what a huge difference. Now I can stream movies 4x faster then before.I would highly recommend the Linksys Powerline AV 1-Port Network Adapter Kit (PLEK400).

Serious Fatal Flaw
Installed easily, functioned briefly. The main issue was that I could no longer connect to my networked PS3. I contacted Linksys and we quickly determined an IP conflict. I was then told and this is a direct quote from the Live Chat support from Jeffrey (18183) to All Participants:I am very sorry for the inconvenience but we need it to be on the same circuit breaker for it to communicate. It is a product limitation.I explained that modern houses have dozens of circu...

Don't recommend - Found a better solution
I wanted a wired solution to various points in my house to get the full bandwidth of my cable modem, which can get > 50 Mbps download speed with a direct Ethernet cable connection to my router. The initial reviews I read about these devices sounded fairly good, so I purchased a few of them. My initial tests were ok. I could get 20-30 Mbps download speed, which was not the full bandwidth of my cable modem, but still slightly better than my WiFi connection speed. However, after using these powerli...

Not compatible with earlier generation Linksys Powerline AV (PLE200)
I ordered this kit to add to an existing Powerline AV network made up of Linksys PLE200 devices. Apparently, Linksys doesn't keep compatibility between its own devices, even though they're all supposedly compliant with the Powerline AV standard. Before connecting the PLS400 and PLE400 to the network, I upgraded all my PLE200 devices to the latest firmware. Even with that upgrade, connections between the old and new adapters were very slow (5% or less of normal speed) with frequent complete dropp...

Does NOT work across different circuit breakers
Plain and simple - if the device you're trying to connect is on a different circuit breaker - do NOT buy this product, it won't work.Connect the devices - no network. Instant chatted with support and the person told me plain and simple - this device HAS to be on the same circuit or it won't work. The reason for one star - I had to purchase the product and try it for myself to find that it doesn't work across breakers. Sure would be nice to read about it somewhere...or I don't ...

Linksys product not as good as they used to be
I read the review and decided to purchase this product,. When it arrived I was able to install it and get it working within 10 minutes. Two weeks later the PLW400 stopped working. I called Linksys and spent hours trouble shooting the problem with a person that was hard to understand due to the language barrier. After Linksys determine the product was defective they wanted to replace it with a refurbished one. I told them that I paid for a new one and I did not want another broken one. Long...

OK for the targetted use factor
I debated for quite a while what stars to give this product, but ultimately gave it a 3-star, and will give written justification. If you have a part of your home that is not capable of getting physical cable runs (for whatever reason), and/or wireless is just crap whatever you do, this is a way to get something to that area - and yes it is far more stable than wireless.Possible Role 1: Home Theatre --> 5-starThis is the targeted focus of this product, regardless of ...
