Great blu-ray player for price.
The Lg BD611 blu-ray player is a great low price player with not many extras. Great picture, sound, plays any disc, boots fast, and easy to hook up. The USB hook-up feature is great. I hooked up a terabyte external hard drive and play music and movies from it.It lacks internet access, except to update the firmware.The remote good size but lacks a subtitle button and only hooks up to 7 different TVs. Am excellent value with just a small glitch
We bought this player to complement our Vizio 42" TV that was already well-equipped with network functions (Netflix, Pandora, Amazon Prime, etc). I had been looking for a player that supported DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) or CIFS (Common Internet File System) to access media on our home server. Absolute basic bluray player with usb media player
This is an absolute basic bluray player with usb media player.It can play majority of medias commonly downloadable or home-created ones. I haven't popped one in yet that it wasn't able to play. But don't think though that it'll play all as I'm sure it won't.I bought this at local brick and mortar store. Not playing Japanese BDs
It would have been better if the product description mentioned that it's not multi-regional and only plays U.S.-based blue-ray discs. I bought this to play only one Japanese BD but it doesn't play it.Update on 1/25/12:I bought another U.S.-based BD and tried to play it, but it won't. I guess it was the player itself not the region code that was the problem. Now I have two BDs that can't be viewed and one nonfunctional player.

No power
I bought this Blu Ray as a Christmas gift and it was delivered via UPS only in the actual product box, not a brown shipment box. My friend who received the gift went to set-up the Blu Ray and it would not power-on. I assume it was damaged during shipping because they cut corners on packaging. Sent it back, hoping for a replacement to come quickly and crossing my fingers that it works.

Good blu ray player for the price
This is a pretty good no frills blu ray player. I definitely recommend it if you're looking for blu ray playback ONLY. If you're looking for something to stream Netflix, Youtube, Hulu, etc, then you need to keep looking.My only gripe with the player and the main reason I took a star off is because of it's standard dvd playback. bad for music CDs
I so wanted to give this player 5 stars. In a world where everyone sells a Swiss-army Blu-Ray play, attempting to fill so many functions apart from playing discs, I wanted to reward LG for making a device that does what a Blu-Ray player should do -- play discs -- cheaply and well. If you also want internet streaming, buy a Roku box. Even buying both, the net purchase will be less than most Blu-Ray players on the market, and each device can focus on what it does, simply and cleanly.

Loud, slow, the opposite of good.
This is my first blu ray player and I will be returning it. It takes FOREVER to load a disc. My old DVD player can do it in 5 seconds, this takes a minute plus, every time. It's also loud, which is completely unacceptable. During quiet scenes you can hear the whirring of the disc. Come on, really? This is 2012! This DVD player is not worth the money. Buyer beware if you care about either one of these. If you don't, than this is the DVD player for you.
