Unreliable

This review is from: Iomega REV 70GB USB 2.0 Server Backup and Disaster Recovery Kit - 33511 (Electronics) I had major problems with the Rev 70. It works fine for copying a small volume of files, but anytime I use it the way I intended when I bought it - to copy large numbers of image files - almost invariably it will abort with an I/O error. Also, anytime I connect to it via a network share the Rev 70 file structure becomes corrupt.

Outstanding

Makes tape backup outmoded. Very fast with high capacity. Eject mechanism is a little weak but overall very good piece of equipment. Plug and play, integrates seamlessly with ArcServe.

Good for daily backups

This drive is fast, high capacity, and is good for daily backups. We have many of these in the field, but occasionally they lock up, stop writing to disk, or cause the server to crash (yes, even blue screen when ejecting the disk). Iomega always recommends upgrading the firmware, which we have done, and for the most part they do a good job. But often times we have to do a full format to the disks to correct any errors which can take a lot of time and be very frustrating. Support can take a long ...

Fast and Easy to Use

This review is from: Iomega REV 70GB USB 2.0 Server Backup and Disaster Recovery Kit - 33511 (Electronics) I've had this drive in two of my shops for a month and a half now. One was having intermittent issues with extremely long backup times (21 Hours for approx. 45GB), but that was resolved with a firmware update. The other has been running properly with no issues. If these are as reliable as the 35GB models I'll stay happy.
