Unpredictable.
 
I used one of these for almost two years, but I only used it to keep files on, so it was running for about two hours for a total of maybe five times. Then, one day, it just started beeping and that was the end of that. Just think about the fact that This thing ran for 10-15 hours in my ownership before it failed. Small, fast, easy to use
 
I got this hard drive a while back because I wanted to reformat my laptop but wanted to back up first. I have a mac and this hard drive is set up to work with Apple's proprietary Time Machine software. This means that just plugging in the hard drive once a week automatically backs up your hard drive with little to no hassle. This hard drive is my favorite so far. Holds a ton, doesn't have to be plugged in and it's small and light. I can pop it in my backpack an have my home files with me at the office without having to drag my whole laptop in. Transfer rate seems good. Nice sleek design. Great hd.
