Great picture and Wireless Netflix

This product is made by BestBuy (Insignia is BestBuy's house brand - kind of like generic products from the grocery store). What BestBuy saves by not putting a fancy Sony or Samsung label on the product gets passed on to you. Still, the player is made well and performs exceptionally for this price. Now, understand that there are players that do more stuff, maybe have cooler menus and might have better picture/sound. That said, your average Joe ain't never gonna notice any of that s...

Go with the newer Model: NS-WBRDVD2 with Auto Resume

This is a nice basic Blu-Ray player. I purchased it from Best Buy in February. As others have stated it lacks auto resume for DVD's and Netflix streamed movies. It has a built-in WiFi module. For the price it is difficult to beat.I gave away the player and purchased the newer Insignia model NS-WBRDVD2 which is basically the same, but has auto resume. The newer model is a little quieter too.

Won't Auto Resume DVDs; Not User Friendly

I didn't even THINK to shop for a blu-ray player that advertised an "auto resume" feature, as I just assumed it came standard with any player (as it did with my last two DVD players). Not so. If you turn off the player in the middle of a movie, it will start from the beginning the next time you power on. I dealt with this for a week or so before deciding the inconvenience wasn't worth the good price. Additionally, the remote is NOT intuitive, and the user guide is not at all helpful -- it took 2...

Insignia NS-WBRDVD

Brought the NS-WBRDVD as an open box item for under $100. BD movies look perfect and the Netflix streams without any lags. (Getting excellent wifi reading from G-router). My only issue is the remote is sluggish. Once all required firmware are updated (two) you will have an outstanding BD player that access Netflix. p.s. (The wifi connection was not hard out all. This player detected my network, just put in my security code and I was online in minutes) Very happy with this product even if...

Complete Junk. Avoid.

Bought the player, it worked to play a DVD then ate itself later that day. The screen wouldn't sync (picture was rolling) and my TV kept displaying resolutions and refresh rates that were way out of range.Returning to the store ASAP.

Very old product

This is the old version of blu-ray, I mean even blu-ray has evolved, newer versions load faster and have several new apps like facebook, pandora, weather and more. Newer and fancy blu-rays include wi-fi capabilities so you won't need to run cables from your dsl router to your dvd player. I rather pay $50 more for a newer and fancy equipment than buying a discontinued and capacity lacking one.Maybe I had bad luck when I decided to buy it but as soon as it arrived I noticed all the con...

No problem connecting to wireless network

I read many of the negative reviews before purchasing this item. Most described setup problems with the wireless network. When I hooked player up, and the setup options for networking came up, I intuitively selected the wireless option under select a network. I then had no luck with setup. Just for the heck of it I started over and instead of selecting wireless I just hit enter at the select a network prompt. The unit immediatly identified my wireless access point as well as several of the neigh...

A Mixed Bag!

The player is excellent, from my point of view, and for what it is, the price can not be beat. I noticed a few reviews indicating issues with the remote control, and I have found the same to be true. In my case, once the batteries are installed in the remote it will work long enough for one to get the player operating. However, if the batteries are left in the remote - at some point it seems to send out signals that do three things:1. Block the remote from further control of the player...
