I have purchased this and already used it in Mexico. It is helpful to get you to any of the MAJOR cities but even within Guadalajara it was clearly very dated and did not compare favorably with a GPS that my friend was using that he purchased in Mexico.I bought the Garmin GPS specifically so I could use this map in Mexico. I called Garmin and asked when an update would be available and was told they have no plans to update. When traveling to Ajijic it did not show ANY streets or even a road to g...

I love my Garmin and use it extensively in the US. So I purchased the chip for Mexico and was very disappointed with its performance. It did not find even one of the addresses that I programed in to it in Mexico. Often it got stuck on trying to find satalites. Other times it simply couldn't find the address and so we used the old standbys of using maps and asking directions of the locals. A huge disappointment. I'm going to ask for a refund, it was worthless.

The coverage for Mexico City surprised me - it's really complete, most methods of finding a place work great. Highways and major roads are well covered in Central Mexico, too. Not too useful for the road, though it provides just enough info to make it worth taking along (just don't leave the map behind).

- This is a new Review. My rating dropped to 0 -I drove in Yucatan about 500 miles. 50% of the time it showed me as if I am off road. The map is correct for 1980 (I have 2012 edition. In contrast Google map was updated a week after the road was paved.) The routing capability in the city is abysmal you better ignore it. In Mexico left turn is disallowed, the GPS constantly prompt you to do so. Initially I found myself driving against the traffic. When you look for a major hotel (Fiesta America...

Its a very good product, lacks a little updating, but it has already helped me to get out from a traffic jam. Some street names are no longer the same, as a lot of new places are not there, but I must say its really worth to buy.

I had purchased CitySelect maps V2 MEXICO by 2007, and by June 2008 I again purchased another one same label CitySelect maps V2 MEXICO, and the software was More complete, More streetsnames , more city adequations, more shortcuts. Better in many ways, But why is not advertised these changes in another vwersion ? I Think it is because they know everyone will look after the latest release and the older releases will not be sold, and will be returned to the factory. I guess.Well, I am happy with th...

The map was sort of OK in Mexico City. But when I drove to Cancun, it did not even had the High Ways as have been there for years. And that is not good enough. It is a preatty high price for just one contry, so will say you should expect a little more. And when I tryed to registrate, it come up with that the code has been registrate before. So did I buy a pirat Map card, or is that a Garmin problem??? I was in Mexico then, so I did not call and spenn a lot of money to figure this out.

Used this for a trip from Los Angeles to San Felipe Mexico on the Garmin Nuvi 265wt. Now I will just write this about the Map (on a side note if you dont known where you are going dont just rely on this have a back up plan. Sometimes certain Garmin units will take you out of your way and in Mexico this could send you in an unwanted area or a wrong way) I had been there once before but planned on going back so I got this just in case. You do have to change the country when you are attempting to...
