I didn't know you binoculars could be this good

I used to use a pair of Steiner Military Marine 8x30's. They were optically very clear and bright. Even at 8x, theywould make my eyes hurt after extended viewing and 8x isn'treally all that powerful.I first saw these binoculars on Ken Rockwell's site and hehighly recommended them. I was looking for a pair ofstabilized binoculars and I was originally interested in theCanon 8x25. I never heard of these Fujinon but I waswilling to give them a try (and to spend the big bucks). After just 1 minute o...

Really Great Binoculars

Performance of the Fujinon binoculars is nothing short of outstanding! The Fujis compare very favorably with my Swarovskis and other high-end binos I've used/owned. Resolution is excellent center to edge and contrast and colors are vivid. Of course, stabilization is the primary feature separating the Fujis from other binos as noted by other reviewers. A relatively "shake-free image"--especially important beyond 8x or "unsteady" environments (e.g.,boats,wind)--provides the ability to see more de...

Very pleased with this addition

I have many optics at my disposal. Before this purchase I regularly used my Steiner 15x80 w/compas as well as my Canon 18x50IS stabilized binoculars. I use my binoculars for law enforcement surveillance, air to ground activities and personal uses. Each pair in my "toolbox" has a distinctive purpose. The Steiners are the best for low light use. The Canon glass is great when I need the reach of the 18 power and the benefit of the stabilization.I hesitated to buy these Fujinons, thinking I would ...

Good Binoculars

Great image stabilization! I first bought the Canon 10x42L but was disappointed with the stabilization. All I can say about the Fujinon is wow! However, I give it 3 stars for the following reasons:1) No lens cap or protection for the front of the lens. And, if you try to buy the Fuji filters they are not available. By the way, the Objective thread size is non standard so you cannot use a camera filter - way to go Fuji!2) I find it a lot harder to adjust the distance between the eyes, than I d...

I can't put them down

Any of the parameters for judging the quality of high powered binoculars are meaningless unless you have a tripod. The jiggle and movement takes the fun out of using anything with high magnification. The biggest kick I have with these binoculars is letting others use them. I tell them how they work, hand them over and wait for the "WOW"! I've looked through Zeiss, Leica, Swarovski and I wouldn't give these Fujinon's up for anything. The image stabilization allows me to pick out details that are ...

Steady As They Go

I purchased these after quite a bit of research and hemming and hawing. I own the Canon 10x42 IS and they are great but needed something with a little more IS for use on my kayak and so I finally broke down and got these. I have been very pleased. They work really well as the reviewers I read said they would. Ken Rockwell had a really good review and detailed as only Ken can do He had used the Canons and his experience paralleled mine with them. Canon, locked down very tight and the image was roc...
