Etymotic headset is a 5 star choice!

Great headset! The earpeice takes a bit of getting used to, but once you become familiar with the 'in the ear' design, the reward is an extremely clear conversation... even in noisy environments. I often participate in long conference calls that, due to time zone consraints, must be taken in my car. The noise cancelling microphone eliminates all nackground noise from being transmitted to the distant end. Those at the other end of the line often assume I am sitting in my office, not a moving ve...

Outstanding headset, particularly for challenging environments

I recently purchased this Ety*Com headset for use primarily in my car. I have a convertible which yields a challenging environment for headsets with wind noise plus engine and road sounds. I had tried several other wired and Bluetooth headsets (most significantly more expensive than the Etymotic) with various passive or active noice cancelling functions in order to find something that would let me both listen and be heard by my callers while driving w/ the top down. The Ety*Com yiel...

The last headset you will ever buy.

I spend a lot of time on my cell phone, particularly in my car. I tried dozens of different headsets before spending the extra money on this one. Prior to this, the Jabra Earboom was the best one I found in both comfort and sound. That said, the sound was actually just mediocre--but since many others make you sound like you are calling from the airport, mediocre is actually good. The package includes a bunch of different ear tips--foam, and several earplug styles in different sizes...

Only Usable In Ear Headset

I travel every week and have gone through dozens of headsets from every manufacturer. I find that either the first person I call asks me to get off the headset because the quality is so bad or it works well for a few weeks and then breaks. I actually traveled with a full Plantronics headset in my bag which made me look like a secretary that is on his lunch break and forgot to take off his headset. One of my customers turned me onto the Etymotic Research 4P for my Ipod and while I wa...

Silenced by my headset

I have had Etymotic earphones for years and love them, so it was with great confidence that I ordered this headset. Unfortunately, I quickly discovered three problems:1. The headset has a 2.5mm jack that does not work with my mobile phone, which has a 3.5mm socket. $10 more and 1-2 weeks longer to get an adaptor.2. The ear plug supports the relatively small weight of the boom/mic and cord. It feels fine at first, but gets uncomfortable after a while. I discovered this ...

The Ultimate Test: in my convertible

I have a bluetooth headset, but while driving the convertible, I just couldnt hear very well. I have a set of ER headphones which I absolutely love, so I thought I'd try this device. It really works great. I can hear so well with it, even in the noisiest environments. Wind noise on the mic is a little bit of a problem, though, but not enough to keep me from telling you to get one of these. It is bad enough to be talking on the phone at all while you are driving...at least get some type of handsf...

Best wired headset I've used, great noise cancellation, recommended

I used to be on the phone 5+ hours a day, so I was on the search for a great cell phone headset. I had a Palm Treo 650, which had a very sensitive mic (picked up a lot of background noise), and also a poor speaker (so it was hard to hear the other party). I would try to talk in the car with the windows up, but since my car was older and noisier it was near impossible to hear each other with the built-in mic. I used other wired headsets which were cheap and worthless (mic would still pickup a ...

Superb noise rejection

I use an ER22C headset with the plastic eartip pictured on [...] (not the foam eartip). I also use the larger of the two included windsocks on the mic. Once properly inserted in the ear canal, the headset stays perfectly secure through a round of golf. The headset fits comfortably under an open-face or a full-face motorcycle helmet. I have attended two hour-long business teleconferences while riding, and I've *never* been asked to mute my microphone. The bike is a relatively quiet Honda GL1...

Best earbud I have owned.

I have used wired and wireless earbuds. Most of the units I have used have been inadequate in overcoming road noise and providing clarity. The Etymotic ER22C fits snugly in your ear canal. Be sure to try the different molded earplug inserts supplied. I started using it with the one installed by the manufacturer and then tried another only to find the second gave me more volume and clarity. Unit is supplied with 2.5mm plug and I had to find adapter for my Blackberry Curve. You won't be disappoint...

Best headset I've tried (and I've tried many)

Over the years I've tried many different kinds of phone headsets: earbuds, over-the-ear with a boom, in-the-ear with a mini-boom, bluetooth. This one is the best for me, by far.Regardless of how noisy the surroundings are, I can hear perfectly and the person I'm talking with can hear me perfectly. I've learned that the closer the mic is to your mouth, the better the sound quality, and this headset gets the mic very close. In comparison, the sound quality produced by expensive, itt...
