Superb Turntable!

After much research, I settled on this Denon DP-300f turntable because it's a Denon and because it has a built-in amp since my receiver doesn't have a "phono" input, hence I can plug it anywhere there's an RCA input. This gem sounds superb. The needle that came with is was good but I upgraded the needle to an audiophile needle which improved the sound even more. It's easier to change the needle because the catridge headshell is removable from the tone arm. You will love...

Sleek, Elegant

I bought this turntable as a birthday present for my wife. I like to shop around prior to making a purchase so I looked in the popular electronics stores as well as the high-end HI-FI stores. The low-end tables I saw appeared to be made of plastic and look cheap. The high-end units were so elite (and pricey) that they were just too much for my needs. This table is a nice balance between both ends of the spectrum. This unit has a quality look without being over the top and it allows for fine tuni...

Denon DP-300F, What a pleasant surprise!

I purchased this unit for a beach home to avoid having to run from the comfort of my swing chair at the terrace to the living room every time an LP finished. I was pleasantly surprised to find this turntable delivers sound that is above its price point and with the convenience of automatic shut off. I replaced the factory cartridge with a Denon DL103R, replaced the rubber footers with adjustable bronze spikes and using an external phono preamplifier. The output from the preamp is connected to th...

Fantastic Player at a Great Price

There's no way around the fact that there are many great turntables on the market right now. It's hard to pick a table because of how many tables offer attractive designs, great features, and build quality. U-Turn, Pro-ject, Technics, and many other brands all offer great products. However, when I found out about the Denon DP-300F, I was sold. Great reviews indicated almost unanimous satisfaction with the table, and the Denon name has been associated with quality products for years. Great specs ...

BEST FOR THE MONEY TURNTABLE

Forget the reviews that said it's cheap, it's not. I own two right now with different Audio Technica cartridges (AT440Mla & AT311EP with Shibata stylus) and the arm is as good any manual on the market under $500. It has the same capability as most manuals with the same functions (lift) and magnetic anti-skate with dial. You can also use the auto return to avoid standing by or running to the turntable at the end of play. However, due to the multitude of lead in grooves on records...

The Denon DP-300F Turntable

I shopped other less expensive turntables before deciding on the Denon DP-300F. I feel that it is definitely a step up from some of the entry level turntables which cost only slightly less. While I make no claim to being an audiophile, this unit with the factory supplied cartridge provides all the fidelity of sound that I expected and more. Most of my LP collection was acquired back during the days of console unit "record players", which means that many of the albums were "rode...

Nice

Good looking piece of equipment. Easy set-up. That being said, a stylus force gauge is a must. The buttons and cue arm have a smooth feel and work well. I replaced the stock cartridge with an Oyster Black Pearl and got the warmer sound I was after. The auto feature works well, but I usually use the cue arm so I can clean the LP. It's nice to have the option. I only gave it a 4 star, because I know there are better turntables out there. But, let's be frank, a person could spend hundreds o...

Just like old times

I read EVERY review, article and blog I could find in an effort to replace my crappy old Sony turntable. The general consensus was that if I wanted to listen to my now thirty year old records, and hear every little note and flourish, I would have to spend more than $1000----or $2000----or beyond. I was willing to break the thousand dollar line, but it seems that anything beyond the Denon will not start with a push of a button, and more importantly will STOP and SHUT OFF at the end of a reco...

Nice turntable

I was in the market for a turntable and wanted a fully automatic as my tremors would prove disastrous for both a tone arm and record if I had to play them manually. This Denon is a smooth, quiet, nice looking turntable and is easy to set up and I even installed a cartridge upgrade myself with a Sumiko Pearl which I ordered with the turntable from here. It's a great performer and the price is very reasonable....Denon has been making record players for over a hundred years....they got it right...
