Delivers as promised!

This receiver delivers on everything I had hoped for. I use it in my large living room as my home theater system and I can't believe how much I was missing with my 10 year old Sony. Using HDMI cables allows the remote to control nearly every function of all other remotes. Bluetooth and Wifi add icing on the cake. I hear sounds I've never heard before. The capability to have my back yard poolside speakers separate from inside makes the wife happy (not so much the neighbors). Great price for aweso...

Cheap, Tinny, Sonic, Junk

Denon used to be great stuff, and it's high end products still are. But like the Klipsch Best Buy line, these are very dumbed down, bargain basement, junk, with lots of glitter, Blue Toothe, and Wifi. The sound quality is so gutless and poor, I returned it within two weeks.

Great Receiver

We finally have a component that works with our television. It is awesome to have the surround sound with out Bose Speakers. It has more HDMI ports that can be used for computer use too. Love this product.

Major Difference

The Denon AVR-S710W has proven to be a major upgrade to the sound I'm getting from my 20-year old system. I thought i was buying just some additional features (i.e., Internet radio, support for more formats, etc.) but nothing that would radically improve the sound! For that, I thought that I'd need new speakers. Not so. My existing 5.1 system with Klipsch bookshelf speakers, an always very fine Klipsch centerspeaker, and two nothing-special rear speakers has sprung to life. I&#...

Not great out of the box. Needs tweaking

When I first got it, I eagerly ran the Audassey set up and was really disappointed by the amount of background volume and bass to dialog. When I went back into the setup to tweak it, I found it pretty daunting because there isn't much advice as to how to tweak it. Finally, I may have it to where I can listen to show's dialog and then have a commercial come on and not blow me out of the room. I would have given this receiver 3 stars for my pain, but it's such a good value that I bumpe...

Not Perfect But Excellent For The Price

Exceptional for the price. Arm yourself with good speakers. In order Dolby Atmos to work you need Atmos enabled speakers. Firmware updates and setup are a breeze. The iOS app works great on wi-fi. My main issue was HDMI handshake drops between PS4 when watching Blu-ray. I fixed this with a HDMI 1.4 UltraHD cable on Amazon ($5) and no issues afterwards. Great value and compact size for under $500.
